Being someone who stopped watching your videos for a good while, I really think these longer form videos are a step forward for you as a creator. I'm honestly sick of you catching so much slack within the skateboarding community, these new videos are putting some respect on your name and I think its extremely admirable for you to make such a content shift.

The longer videos are so dope! Knowing that you are enjoying and documenting this time will be so rewarding later on to look back at and enjoy all over again!

John Hill, I hope you see this and take the advice. You are aware that things are not as safe as they used to be. Go with that gut feeling and never feel bad about it. Also, record on an old camera. It could be a Sony a7S with the cheapest 24mm or 50mm lens. 1080p video is fine since most of your audience is watching at 720p or 1080p. You can upscale to 4k. Do not bring anything that you're not afraid to lose with you. An old iPhone that you're not worried about it getting stolen. Also, use an old iPhone as your backup phone. If it gets stolen, fine, you have iCloud you can get the settings back. Cheap cameras with good quality and unlimited record time, 1080p is fine. upscale to 4k. Stay safe man, I completely understand where you're coming from and do not feel bad. Your gut is usually right and don't apologize for it. You only get one chance.

As an introvert, I love these vlogs so much. I think when I watch videos I (falsely) feel like I'm friends with whoever I'm watching. These vlogs just seem like we all get to hang out with you even more. That's sounds worse than I mean it too, but it's super fun is all I'm saying. Keep killin' it!

Yo, also, Rosetta Stone. I hear it's really easy to learn another language with it. Also Babel is another way to learn another language. I was thinking about learning Spanish being in AZ, it would be super helpful. I just wish I had paid attention back in Spanish class, but my teacher was way too hot to be a teacher and well, I didn't learn much. Lol😅

I feel you that was sketch… sometimes I don’t care if people are weird and stare or get too close but sometimes it just makes me leave… also just wanted to say I’ve got a little 3 year old and yes you will struggle with time but you’ll still manage mate! Inevitably I’ll look forward to the moaning about time videos in the future 😆 but mate… you’ll need skating even more when she’s here! Getting out for an hour or two when you can will give you the mental break you need. You’ll go home feeling better than you left and that will only make you a better father 👊
@blubberb3rndАй бұрын
When i became a father, i also unintentionally stopped skateing due to lack of time. My mental health went south over the last few years and last year i was diagnosed with double depression (it was a long journey to realize that something is off). But today, 10 years later, i grabbed my board again. Somehow my skateboarding-mindset never disappeared. I still see spots around me, feel the excitement in my guts while watching skate videos. At first it felt weird. After so many years and i had to overcome the feeling that i am too old for skateboarding (I'm now 35), but now i think it was one of the best decisions i've made. My depression symptoms are getting better and somehow it feels like that skateboarding is the missing puzzle piece for my mental health. Also my son (6y) wants to learn to skate, which makes me pretty happy and proud and I look forward to share this world with him.
