I just hit 2 years collecting, and doubling still throws me off! Machine doubling I have down, as I see quite a few of those when hunting. Minor doubling I really just don't have an eye for yet. This year I am gonna spend time reviewing more examples and going through more rolls.

Thank you Daniel ! Yea, that Obverse is a little difficult to catch while the reverse is an easy one. Study, compare, to other coins and post to your forums. Take the forum advice's and learn form those too. Take the coin and turn it as as you are looking at it...the lighting will sometimes play tricks. It just takes time to learn about doubled dies.

I scooped an OBW roll of 66 that looked great from the outside but looked as though it spent time in a flooded basement once opened. Bright green rims, crusty as can be. Wicked bummer. I didn't hold it against the seller, though. He had no way of knowing everywhere it's been since being rolled. It is what it is.

Morning! Why I do not remember.... but I had a '66 in a coin flip...just finished looking at it and it has die markers etc. compared to Wesslers photos. It is not in mint condition but exciting that I am finally listening to you! And learning. I will have to look to see if I have any other '66s. Thank you Daniel, my coin hero. I noticed I listened to this video a year ago maybe that is why it was in a flip...I recently got a microscope because I have poor eyesight.I am going to try and get a good picture and go to your coinhelp site. I have a hard time spotting things with 10× and I have really good vision. I don't use a scope, but 30 to 50× is much more helpful, IMO.

I have a couple 66's, but I barely have a real collection, I just save old that I find, lol got a small baggie full of 1964 nickels, some * dollars, got 1940 nickel, 1938 penny, 1943 steel penny. Lol like I said I'm not really a collector, but I kind know what to hang onto though .

Daniel I came across an sms 1966 Lincoln penny and this thing looks like a satin finish coin I believe is an ms-68+ or better. On the back it has 4perfect steps and then the rest of the steps look more flat it looks like some kind of cameo.Is it worth anything.

I just sent some images of a silver colored 1966 penny that weighs 3.1oz., but I am not sure what metal it is, it's not tarnished. It is not magnetic like the 1943 pennies that I have.

I simply do not get excited about doubled dies that can only be seen with 10x or more magnification, and just barely at that. Merry Christmas, though, and thanks for sharing the information.

@@CoinHELPu Understood, but I remember wondering what the excitement was all about with the 1972 double die when it looked so slight when compared to the 1955. That didn't stop my young self from looking for them through my paper route change, though most cents and pre 1971 'nickels' were S mint where I lived. Likewise, the 1970S small date required magnification to see whereas the '60 was obvious at a glance.

My father was a huge collector mainly of peace..Morgan’s and a few of the old and smaller gold pieces. I’ve got the error and double dies bug it seems while going thro the collection he’s left us and just found two of these in the last couple days!! Didn’t know for sure but do now..and is much appreciated! Have seen a good amount of your videos and as haven the new age issues lol(adult add/ocd and etc.)it’ll take me a few more watches for sone of them but I already appreciate and have much respect for your knowledge and experience in this hobby/feild and sure am glad I found this channel!
