I just don't like the way Rigamarole sounds when spoken. The 'a' just ruins the flow of the word. However, your comment reminds me that it has changed alot already. The origin of the "the whole shebang" is one of my favorite language stories. Per "The Dictionary of American Slang," "the whole shebang" originally referred to a completed military pup tent composed of two "shelter halves" buttoned together. Two troops would pool their shelter half segments to complete the pup tent, i.e., the whole shebang. As I recall, this goes back to the Civil War.

In the Middle Ages, the term Rageman or Ragman referred to a game in which a player randomly selected a string attached to a roll of verses and read the selected verse. The roll was called a Ragman roll after a fictional king purported to be the author of the verses. It originally comes from a middle english term called a ragman roll, which was a list of dos and don'ts that were presented to the people. Hence, things were explained to you from the ragman roll which eventually evolved into the modern term.
