it pisses me off so badly when people decide to have a certain opinion just because everyone else does. people have truly forgotten how to form their own opinions and sometimes they will fixate on their opinion and will refuse to listen to anyone else because they don't want to be "wrong"

FRRR, this is exactly why I deleted my social media. (The only social media I use now is Pinterest, KZbin and WhatsApp.) Because of social media I’d be SO chronically online I was a fucking clown. I fed into cancel culture and didn’t have my own opinion on things, as soon as anyone said something I’d switch so fast and agree, like as if I didn’t have control over myself and my mind. Even if I had my own opinions, I’d switch to what everyone agreed on because I didn’t wanna get into trouble/didn’t want people to hate me. I think some people don’t understand that when people have opinions they’re not ALL going to be same..

Okay tbh i feel like this is not the way to talk about those peopel as Stupid?! As much as I would love to call people stupid as well, i think you should know that there is a reason for everyone to do what they do right? You are in psychology major , correct? Now, I’m no one and not having degree. But I feel like the way to approach and talk about these other girl/woman is somewhat ignorance and kinda.. toxic. It clearl that you are blaming them for feeling and doing what they had been taught since childhood. A psychology major shoudl know that it might takes years for people to even recognize what they do and years for them to break their habit. But you just out right call them stupid. It’s somewhat discouraging to me. Yeah, I know it’s clear to you what you know is the right way to do, but you never know the situation they in, you should be more gentle and can only guide them. Not tell them they are stupid and force them to change

I'm glad I was stubborn enough not to change just to be liked. I listen to the facts and make my judgments on those. Sometimes, if proven otherwise, I will change my mind. this is SO important. I really resonate with what you said about tiktok and the degeneracy on there. I took only about a two week break from it and when I went back on, it was like the spell wore off and I was able to see it for what it was - an endless stream of nonsense specially crafted to get users hooked and mindlessly scrolling. Those two weeks off I spent actually living my life (going out, meeting ppl, etc.) and when I went back on tiktok it all seemed so pointless compared to my real life. It's sad looking back at days I wasted trying to find fulfillment in scrolling, when I could've just gone out and been fulfilled by simply living my life. Really interested to hear your take on it in your vid.

This is so important to call out. I used to scroll through Instagram a lot and I uninstalled it a couple of months ago. I revisited the website version and I swear to God I cringed so much looking at the content that I used to lovee a while ago. It's like people are trading their originality for relatability. You have done a brilliant job with this video, and it just helps me analyze myself and my content even more. the first video I saw of you it was a study video, in it you'd said there's no shortcut and you've gotta stop making excuses and get up and work. That was the first time someone had directly called out my shit and that's when started looking at myself honestly and critically. Your honesty in that video and in all the others is what has screwed my head straight and I can never thank you enough for that. PS: you look GORGEOUS and I can't even find words for the dress.

I was waiting for a video like this to address group thinking! I am with you on people not expressing raw opinions or having any just so they go along with the masses to be liked. I especially hate when girls that legitimately have different opinions are suddenly written off as “pick me” girls. It’s like if anyone like me or you had a different opinion compared to most people, others would be threatened by our intelligence and therefore treat us as if they already labeled us as “pick me” girls. I think wanting to “be lead” is a waste of brain cells and it’s really scary bc the people that are stupid are likely to be exploited and end up in bad situations and relationships bc they’ll believe in anything someone they put on a pedestal would say. Never be afraid to express your opinion and stand by it! Another thing is tarot readings. I also stopped watching tarot readings bc most of the stories about the ex coming back and someone being obsessed with the viewer didn’t sit right with me whereas a lot of stupid people in the comments would be like “God bless your soul! You’re such an angel!” as if the tarot reader were the next God bc guess what…the reading was exactly what they wanted to hear! I was so fed up with these tarot readers and people in the comments because I never ever believed that we came to this earth to chase our exes nor manifest a get-back-together text from them so I stopped watching tarot altogether. What I decided to do instead was take back control of what I truly wanted to manifest in my own reality with the help of my spirit guides and I friggin don’t care about my exes coming back and I’m glad they aren’t.
@skyepleasehealwearedying
@skyepleasehealwearedying Жыл бұрын
what you said about the tarot was literally exactly my experience, all the comments were always “claiming he comes back to me!” or like “I knew he was the one for me” and things like that, and something i noticed is 90% of the time it’s women or girls watching that hoping for their crush/ex/husband or whatever to come back, and honestly I just felt really bad it almost felt exploitative, obviously the tarot readers are not trying to hurt anyone but the whole tarot reader culture is just super toxic, and if you come back to a reading and realise what was predicted didn’t come true, the reader and other listeners make you believe it just ‘wasn’t your pile’ , or perhaps some things came true and the inaccuracies were due to it being a ‘general reading’ so you just keep on watching them because you enjoy the sense of false hope. and if you start hearing something you don’t like you just move on because it ‘didn’t resonate’. if you actually think about it it’s a bit silly and I can’t believe I wasted so much time on them, I still watch readings now from time to time and even do my own sometimes but now I do it just for entertainment because I know that it’s not quite possible that a stack of cards with some fancy drawings on them are going to tell my future, speak to my spirit guides or give me any sort of generic life advice that I haven’t already heard before
@harmoniousandtranquilhannah
@harmoniousandtranquilhannah Жыл бұрын
@@skyepleasehealwearedying I’m sorry you felt bad about watching those tarot readings! I am now careful and selective with deciphering whether or not certain tarot channel actually care about their subscribers’ well-being and predict the right outcomes only because I don’t want to get in my head a lot about the future and then be disappointed if the blessing isn’t true or it wasn’t my pile or group. You’re right - tarot is sometimes exploitative. I am still believer in tarot, but I want to tap into my intuition more without relying on random tarot readers who aren’t always right or don’t have everyone’s piles. I believe that the only time tarot isn’t as believable anymore is when it’s been abused and sugarcoated by fake tarot readers who give no shits about anything other than views, subscribers, and money.

@@harmoniousandtranquilhannah thanks for your nice words and I agree if you do find a good reader a lot of the time they actually do wanna help and ive come across a bunch of lovely tarot readers whose subscribers seem to love them and trust their readings, but that takes time plus some trial and error to find a reader for you so while I also would like to still believe in tarot as much as I used to i don’t want to do so just yet until I get a lil more secure in my self esteem so not to get disappointed and being used by a ‘reader’ for money

"The more you know, the more you realize what you don't know." I used to be very opinionated, but within the pandemic I stopped being on this or that's side. I decided to just listen to people and use my critical thinking than preaching something to others because you'll never know what is the universal truth, I can agree on something but the next argument I'll realize the other argument is wrong. So many stuff in the world and I don't know what is real or what is not.

Yup Critical thinking is very essential and important over the internet. We are facing so much information overload and I have went down to the rabbit hole of visiting such degenerate sites and subreddits, that I had to take break from internet all together. While I try to be open to other perspectives but I realised not all opinions need to be heard or read online. We have limited amount of time and energy present that we shouldn't really waste and this was a lesson for me to be learned. If I know a person is showing signs and holds some idiotic beliefs or is a fan of people like Andrew Tate, i really couldn't care less what logical opinion they have to know their perspective or even seek validation.

I now find myself disagreeing with my teachers and professors so often now, but I’m happy that I learned a skill that allows me to think for myself and I encourage anyone to look into critical thinking or other info that the course contains. Well, we mainly form opinions through research, so if internet wasn’t there, we’d find stuff out through magazines and books mostly as well as the news. I think the internet has caused cult like mentality due to all the reasons mentioned in this video and without social media, we’re more inclined to develop proper opinions that are different because real life isn’t like a TikTok algorithm in which you only see content you want to see. In real life, you meet people that are different, that you disagree with, etc. And that’s good. I think without social media, less toxicity would be available. The main problem with social media is the cult like mentality it brings. Not that society never used to have cult like mentality before, but it’s really overbearing now.

Same sentiments, I hate when I try (why do I even bother) to have discussions with stupid people, they attack me as a person instead of the argument. Ad Hominem at its finest. I am very open to opinions and I would also like to lay mine but for some reason, they find a way to twist my words to get triggered/offended by it. As someone who loves learning and knowing new perspectives, I fucking hate it. It’s why I rarely talk to people because they generally do/say the same thing. It’s rare to find someone who can actually think for themselves, as well as listen to who they’re talking to. As for Tiktok, I never even considered consuming whatever content is in there. It’s just an echo chamber of romanticizing toxicity and gender wars. Sure, there are some informative channels but most of them are just useless and are a waste of time. I personally think that people who drown themselves in social media can’t manage critical thinking. Talking to them feels so linear, boring, and pointless. I also hate when people think they have a mental illness just because they saw a video on Tiktok suggesting some symptoms. It’s just so dumb. You have a brain, you should use it sometimes.

Bro this is so true like rn I’m feeling a little bit brain dead but like I don’t have social media I took a break from ig (also because I don’t have space) and also a break from tik tok ever since the start of 2022 BECAUSE IT WAS SO DUMB and I was addicted to it the point is imagine how bad I would feel if I had those?! I would be a dumbass

Hi!! You’re such a bad bitch. I’ve been a subscriber of your channels for a long time now, & seeing how much you’ve grown and become more confident in who you are is so refreshing- since I see a lot of self-deprecating humor online nowadays.

That's because people live on the internet, it's the only reality they know of. I used to be like that for some time, nothing extreme tho, I woke up before I became woke (the irony of this sentence), thank God. When your reality is the internet you consume, you legit forget how to function in the normal world. Boundaries are off because people share SO much on the internet. I was legit, after being chronically online, able of being opened about the most personal stuff. I cringe so badly now. Also the "trigger" thing. People online get easily triggered because there's so much triggers online. You read comments that people irl never say. You are bombarded with so many opinions and it's insane. So you NEED that safety and get easily offended, because internet is your reality and you're trying to make that reality better by arguing with people, as if they're real life people that actually surround you. It's insane. I don't use tiktok at all, I don't follow any celebrities, influencers and even people IRL on social media. There's just so much fakeness. Right before I clicked on this I watched yt shorts and as I'm in my clear, normal state of mind, I actually see these creators as real people, as if they were in front of me, not just a polished internet characters. It feels so fresh to have a strong identity again, that doesn't rely on internet opinions. Even your videos - love them, watch them all and I don't even agree with a portion of them. Internet FRIED our brain in the last 10 years. We're being programmed fr. It can be a good thing if we carefuly choose what we watch and comment in the way we'd tell stuff irl.

9:03 absolutely. not sharing your opinion probably comes with pros and cons. pro being you’re honest with yourself as well as your audience and con obviously divide in your audience. however, i’d rather tune into your channel ten times over because it’s breath of fresh air. you’re not trying to force your perspectives, except genuinely trying to help people improve and better themselves. i know putting out this kind of content probably isn’t always easy because everyone these days is a “know it all” but you genuinely have my respect over people who do very surface level videos and then exploit their audience to sustain their “influencer lifestyle”.

it’s scary how easily people will wait to follow someone they deem as an idol and even go along with what ever that idol has to say wether it’s wrong or right. Too many people don’t want to take a chance and have discussions with other people that have different opinions , everyone just wants to be a sheep I guess

This is one of the reasons why I didn’t get TikTok. There are so many people on there with opinions I might not agree with always, but if I share my thoughts I worry people will come after me. So tiring. Also the lack of links to resources on there, I really cant trust what people call facts

Hey Simone, I'm genuinely so grateful for your videos. Thank you for picking up your camera and speaking your mind. You tell us things we need to hear but don’t necessarily want to hear. There’s no sugarcoating; just facts and clown energy, which is very refreshing in a strange way. You make very boring topics (e.g. how to get good grades) into entertaining and interesting videos. My grades have definitely improved a lot after implementing your advice. I went from getting mostly D grades to A and A* (which I didn't think was possible for me until now).

Change is not that easy when you have other people such as children or family depending on you. If you’re a single person, it’s much different but when you have people depending on you, you have to make sacrifices for them. You can keep talking about change all you want. It doesn’t come as easy for others.
