Poor Keith! Everybody judges Keith so harshly. The poor man was just trying to get a good night's sleep!😂

The film was actually shot in Sofia, Bulgaria, while exterior neighborhood shots beyond the house’s block were filmed in a Detroit neighborhood.

You would think the lady who interviewed her would be curious why she didn't show up to work the next day. You would have thought she would have told somebody that some lady was renting an Airbnb in that neighborhood and she is now missing but then there wouldn't be a movie right? Not only that, but the cops in this movie are absolutely atrocious disgusting vile human beings. How they treated her was so wrong.

Fun fact: Zac Efron was the first choice to play AJ, who was envisioned as a "beefcake kind of himbo." After Zac turned down the role, director Zach Cregger decided to take the character's image in a different direction and cast Justin Long for his "warm and disarming and charming, lovable presence onscreen" which he thought would make AJ more engaging to audiences.

I STILL can’t believe how she found it acceptable multiple times to travel in that house. Like, the basement was bad enough because it was creepy but she went into a hidden door, down a creepy hallway, found a bloody room something terrible happened in, went through another hidden door, down some weird stairs, and proceeded to stumble through some type of underground mine… me, personally, I would’ve stopped at the basement and called it a day. As a main character she kinda frustrated me because she absolutely should’ve ran the minute she got out of that basement. I know the cops are assholes but Jesus, I would’ve left the door open and called the police from a safe distance away.

I remember leaving the theatre in disbelief 😂 cause what kind of mentality did she have. Risked her life and the others multiple times…

The "Barbarians" in this movie were Justin Long's character, the man in the tunnel, and the way society places judgements based on preconceived notions. Her would be saviors didn't help at all! They d@mn near got her killed. Even the poor inbred "mom" was simply a victim of her circumstance. Poor Bill and her hero the homeless man....Glad she was her own Shero. Fun reaction!

unsure if you would like it, but I recommend the showtime series "Penny Dreadful" it has Eva Green on it. It gets slow sometimes, but its quite the ride. The Acting, the visuals. Its a thriller set in Victorian Times.

SUCH a good movie. went in expecting rlly scary horror and like yeah it’s certainly got it scares and was so disturbing but it was SO funny and impressive. the way the antagonist/“monster” was rlly just a product and victim of abuse. notice how she backed away when AJ found the dad cuz she’s scared of him? the hypocrisy of AJ to call the dad sick when he’s also a r*pist. but he was genuinely such comedic relief, hated him as a person but loved his role in the film. felt so bad for the barbarian at the end tho when tess had to kill her. she didn’t have a real life or socialization and was trained on baby care prolly cuz the dad would’ve impregnated her too. also the ending credits song being “be my baby” had me DYING in the theater. a fun film to watch blind!
@iustinmatei56555 ай бұрын
Hi. I don't want to be that dude, but I don't think what you said in the end was accurate, the one you called "the barbarian", the Mother wasn't, in fact, the one who we should consider the barbarian, but her father, the one who kidnapped that woman and raped her, getting her pregnant, and then raping his children (I didn't figured out how many generations did he raped tho), till the Mother was born. IMO, a sad story, not really an horror film, just some jump scares. 😂
@angiebangie637216 күн бұрын
@@iustinmatei5655fair point! but i think the title is intentionally misleading bc she “looks” like a barbarian (dirty, naked, violent, unintelligible speech). however you’re 100% right, the real monster and “barbarian” of the film is the father who caused all of this. so i agree with you.
