A curiosity about Boy with lov. In the verse where Jin sings "come be my teacher" we see in the choreography Suga pointing at Jhope and vice versa. They do this because Suga taught Jhope how to rap and Jhope taught Suga how to dance when they were trainees. In music Dionysius each of the 7 members represented differente Greek Gos. Jin was Athena, Suga was Hephaesus or Hades, Hobi was Zeus, Rm was Dionysius, V was Apollo, Jimin was Artemis and Jung kook was Poseidon. To help avoid confusion, we usually consider, "AgustD," as his solo performances name. When he's with BTS as a group, he's, "SUGA," in reference to shooting guard. He's a huge basketball fan. This was an extended performance at an awards show. It's a mix of prerecorded performance and live performance, along with video segment. For example, the live horses segment was recorded without an audience, then projected at the live performance as an introduction to the next segment. This performance has CGI during the live performance, as well as overlayed for the broadcast and streaming performance. It started out as a musical montage of the group's songs. Then of the solos were calling out a different deity represented by each member. You'll notice a drop light turned on for each one. Those seven lights became a constellation. At the end of Dionysis, the gods are able to sit down because their jobs are done. There are YT videos of this performance that have the English subtitles. There are also many videos that go in depth on each piece of this performance. We all enjoy watching and listening to an amazing performance. Then, as you learn more and more, that rabbit hole brings you to a higher level of understanding and respect. BTS made the awards show into their own concert. This was a huge flex.

The famous Jimin solo dance. He danced it live, which is really impressive since dancing with soft props is one of the hardest things to do, to control. His stength and the combination of different dance genres is fascinating to watch. Because of his beautiful dance moves, which include so many stunning poses, he has become an inspiration to and a muse for many other artists, even ending up on a dance book cover, on paintings and etchings displayed in art galleries and museums. The most famous one was an art display adjacent to the Louvre in Paris. That painting is now hanging at Jimin's dad's café in Busan for all fans to enjoy.

❣️Jimin’s solo performance, wearing a modernized hanbok just fastened by ties only, had many different dance elements in it! Including the barrel leaps taken from Korean dance elements, some martial arts elements, (trained for 8 yrs in various forms w/blackbelt in Taekwondo), & of course contemporary dance. Also, equally ever so stunningly outstanding, was Jimin's scarf work, which is alone so hard to master, without getting that ever so thin veil of a scarf all tangled! Jimin somehow was able to make the scarf one with himself, using it as an extension, even at one point when he did that amazing jump leap straight up the scarf becoming his wings!! Jimin's whole performance was so amazingly stunningly beautiful. Just so effortlessly breathtakingly mesmerizing to see!! Though the other members did a version of their solo performances for benefit of the live audiences, for the broadcast version as seen here, viewer see the prerecorded version, that was prerecorded the day before, since especially JK’s performance in water with that heavy tank that weighed a ton wouldn’t be able to maneuver for live audience, as well as some of the other effects seen like for Mikrokosmos, also the part with the horses was obviously prerecorded as a safeguard for the horses. It also gave a chance for BTS come up for air as well as give them time to change. Jimin was the only one who didn’t have the benefit of prerecorded VCR, which meant that for his solo performance by the broadcasted version, viewers saw Jimin perform live only. While the broadcast version showed for rest of members the prerecorded version. But once again the live audience did get an opportunity to see BTS members do a version of their solos. 👍🙏❤️🔥😍😇🤩💫✨
@Nataliewms4 ай бұрын
It’s worth watching the behind for this. There will be rehearsal parts, and parts of the performance, members commenting, etc. Like the guys didn’t realize Jimin was going to do his part live! JK also performed his live for that day’s audience. Without the water tank, off to the side so as not be intrusive, but it wasn’t televised & only a few could see it on-site probably. So the actual award night was a “dry run” instead a dry run at a rehearsal. 😂, get it? 😂 Anyway… There’s footage somewhere of them collapsing when they come off stage. Having to take oxygen. They are tough! The choreography is designed to maximize portions for breathing, and limit it when it will impact vocals. This is on top of all the exercising they do (like the treadmill singing that was mentioned, running, lifting weights, etc.) The pre-recorded parts that are “VCRs” are usually storytelling. In part of what they’re performing, but also Easter eggs for ARMY about the next comeback. Each award show has a different one, so when we add them up, we still might not get it (🤡), but we try anyway cause it’s fun! Usually the pre-recorded performance parts are recorded within the same week, all groups that have extended stages do this. ARMY member enter a lottery to get to attend pre-recordings. The actual award night(s) have artists grouped together near the stage, and then fans of all the groups are mixed together in the audience. Seoul’s Gocheok Sky Dome. Its capacity is 16.7k for baseball. I’m not sure what that translates to once you out the stage in. Those shows are typically sold out. The horses were most probably recorded separate, and the Mikrokosmos stage was prerecorded. Though Mikrokosmos had a live audience, I doubt they were able to see all the effects. During the tour they had just finished, they had been using some of these effects (the love sequence - NamJoon did a beautiful interactive portion with the tech.) on a smaller scale while on the road, but at home, for the final, they did a very similar scale for this stage. The part of from Jimin’s performance to RM’s staff strike (which they cut to a different camera angle in this version, but it slipped & hit him… well, ya know. *WINCE* 🫨🥴, & he still went on to perform! Saw that happen live at the time). The part they all performed together was live. The acrobats spinning on hoops, the additional dancers… all of those people surrounding them. It’s a massive production! MAMA (Mnet Asian Music Awards) is a similar award show that rotates to different Asian countries, so the scale isn’t as big - but it’s still bigger than you would imagine! Some award shows/festivals that have performances. Typically groups will have different remixes and choreography, with longer dance breaks. I added typical date info if I could find it quickly. MNET Asian Music Awards (MAMA, end of year) Melon Music Awards (MMA, end of year) Asia Artist Awards (AAA, end of year) KBS Song Festival (KBS Gayo Daechukje, end of year) SBS Gayo Daejeon (Dec. 25th) MBC Gayo Daejejeon (Dec. 31) The Golden Disc Awards (beginning of Jan.) 🔆🍷”Dionysus” was the last song BTS performed, so all members performed solo pieces representing different g-d’s. In the actual song they sing, the lyrics, as always, are quite deep& meaningful! "In Hangul the Korean word for alcohol closely resembles the word for art!! So like BTS does so often, it's sort of a play on words, a metaphor, like filling themselves on art or getting drunk on art! Rejoicing reveling in the process of creating and being fully enmeshed in it!! We all know that Dionysus was the G-d of drink, pleasure, debauchery, as well as decadence, but indeed there is another more creative side like also fertility, birth which is also indeed a form of creating. He was also the g-d or wine grape harvest growth! Many interpretations that can be correlated with the song! Dionysus, was so much more then the harvester of grapes vegetation, & creator of wine! Dionysus was the only Olympian with a mortal mother, because he was raised on the mythical Mount Nysa (which was believed to be either far to the south or the east), and because he wandered Asia before arriving in Greece, Dionysus was seen as an outsider. This was an inherent part of his cult, which often focused on the more subversive elements of his nature. Dionysus was often called Eleutherios, meaning “the liberator,” because his wine, music, and ecstatic dance freed his followers from self-consciousness and the restraints of society. Indeed, as the “twice-born” god, Dionysus had crossed the boundary between life and death, and he was often portrayed as the god who crossed the boundary between the civilized and uncivilized and the known and unknown. He was represented as a god of chaos and the protector of misfits. 👍❤🔥😍🔥

I remember watching this award show live and I was in utter shock how incredible these guys are. To say they are the most amazing performers I have ever seen live, is truly an understatement. Words truly can not convey just how incredible their concerts are. They brought the same energy and performance every single show I went to. They literally give their all until they literally almost pass out. If that doesn’t go to show their dedication to their crafts and fans I don’t know what would. They are a once in a lifetime group. Hopefully in 2025 on their next tour (im hoping it will be when they return from military) you HAVE to see them in concert. Trust me it is absolutely life changing 👏🏼👏🏼

it's the usual "BTS turned every awards shows into their own concert" haha Yes to more BTS live they are insane! You reacted to V's Layover era with his solo debuts and his tiny desk, so yeah his vibe is different. I would say that V's persona when performing as BTS is more fierce (have to do with the type of songs too, as V is mostly into neo-saoul/jazz/RnB). There were a lot of growls and raw vocals in the oldest songs performed by V. Always the sweetest guy though :)

❣️This was from the annual Melon Music Awards, a Korean award show the equivalent to the Billboard Awards. BTS swept the awards, thus closed the award show, though many other artists did indeed perform beforehand. The cost of the production for BTS entertainment company BigHit, was over 500K dollars, and all the in-house production team of BigHit started planning it over half a yr beforehand! Also most of the rehearsal time that BTS had, was while they were touring worldwide. But they all were quite into doing this, and somehow managed to fit in the rehearsal like they did the yr before. The only one who performed live only, without benefit of VCR being shown, for the broadcasted version, was Jimin, who shows here being the phenomenal, outstanding, ever so breathtakingly amazing professional dancer he is, which he was even before joining BTS. His performance was beyond mesmerizing, so poised & elegant of a dancer. With the exception of Jimin, all the other solo performances were prerecorded live, with smaller audience the day before, since there was no way to have these stage sets and tank pool of water let alone have JK who was performing the dance in water get dried and change clothes beforehand! Although, all the members performed a live version of their solo dance, for the live audience, while the VCR was playing the prerecorded version that the broadcast, & or online audience saw. Also certain songs like Mikrokosmos were performed live beforehand, as well, so they could also allow for the special effects that only people who saw the broadcast on TV in South Korea or had it stream worldwide could see that version. Also the part with the live horses was filmed beforehand without an audience.
@safehaven29184 ай бұрын
They all performed live for the live audience including JK who went through his steps to the left of me. I don’t know where the story of them not doing the solos for the live audience started. I’m constantly having to correct this misconception. I was there

Now that I watched your reaction and comments, questions, some have answered a lot. People are saying the Busan free online concert was amazing. I loved it, yet it’s not as long as a real live concert. I’ve been and they are about 3 hrs long. They usually talk at the end to the fans too. This being 1 of their many performances for Korean idol award shows, I love this one! There’s more of those you can watch though they also won’t have subtitles. 1st, I’m so glad you are the 1st reactor I heard pointing out how RM was breathing heavily after his solo rap of Persona. The members you named were all correct. It’s ok not to know all of them. I will say that in the solo dance parts, each song was a snippet of 1 of their songs. The guy on the Horse, Jin, who also threw the rose is known for doing surprise things and was usually underrated by many until recently when more reactors started listening to him and his solos. He has just returned from the military. Suga didn’t dance much in his solo, though he did for all the other ones probably bc he finally had shoulder surgery for an accident where he was hit by a car when doing delivery as 1 of his part time jobs and didn’t tell Big Hit so he wouldn’t get cut. He kept that hidden for years. I laughed when you said Hobi is smiling like an idiot because I know you’re saying it in an endearing way! He is our Sunshine! RM has that leader quality so I’m glad you told us who your bias is! Personally, I’m a Suga bias and love all the others so much that I do call myself OT7 (One True Seven). The growling from V was from a song during the School boy trilogy era where BTS was a little grittier. J-Hope’s fav colour is green too! I’d heard the song you mentioned and I can’t remember why they chose that piece. During that part, on the tv screens were all different BTS MV. They put tiny details into everything and a reason for everything. Dionysus, the last song, was broken from beginning, then into solo dances, then came back and Dionysus is the Greek God of Wine. Someone already said what the lights and that each member represents 1 Greek God. That choreography is so hard and they actually changed 1 part because they kept hurting their shoulders in a shoulder roll over the table that’s seen in a different video. Though they had to do a lot of CG for this performance, they don’t in live concerts and race to do costume changes or something plays on a big screen for them o have time. I think it’s awesome you used to do dub step! I did too but no more. If you do watch Taylor’s Guide, it delves more into the individual members. When you get a chance, also watching BTS Hardships will give you a better context as to why BTS is loved so much by ARMY. If you are looking for a live concert, you could watch on Prime, Disney some of the actual concerts but you can’t watch the full concert on KZbin so sadly, I can’t enjoy it with you. Even Twitch might not allow it. I would also suggest you check out their other award performances from MAMA and other years of the Melon Music Awards (MMA). I believe they do use a live band in this one except where it was pre recorded. As a composer and producer, I can see why you like RM! They are all incredible as they came together as a group BTS (Bangtan Sonyeondan) English- Bulletproof Boyscouts. They have pyrotechnics at all concerts, sometimes water. Jin did get hit in the ear at 1 live performance and kept going and you can see how red his ear got. I do think their lives are better than the MV though I love those too. I’m a Behind the Scenes kind of person who likes to know how they come up with ideas and put it all together. Maybe if you watch the Behind the scenes of this show, it will be very interesting from a production standpoint as well. I do hope you get inspired again and, in a way, I suppose we’re lucky because you made your channel for inspiration. 😊 Thank you, Isaac, for taking the time to watch this and let ARMY enjoy it with you! I can’t imagine how they remember everything too! I recall you saying you played certain instruments and loved other ones, May I ask what instruments or tech you play? You’re becoming one of my fav reactors! Thank you so much! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜🇨🇦🫰🏻

As someone who danced in the past, you don't really memorize it. Your body does. Obviously, you kinda need to know the steps, but after a lot of practice and repeating the choreo, your body just reacts to certain parts of the song and you just let it do its thing. That's why they also have time to think of facial expressions and singing and other stuff, because once you drill the choreography into your body, it doesn't leave for a while. Sometimes it sticks around even for years though most likely not in its entirety. It still takes an insane amount of practice to build up this amount of muscle memory, but it's a different process than I think a lot of people realize. That's also why (although it was undoubtedly a really sweet gesture and they definitely took it further than they had to) they didn't change the positions and choreo when Suga was recovering from his surgery. Changing positioning or small parts of choreo for a short time is a breeding ground for mistakes, because unless you really focus on the change, your body will just do the old choreography (I think this happened to Jungkook during Butter in one of their shows, where he was supposed to stand in for Jin, who was injured, and he just continued doing his usual part instead).
@hortbeck4 ай бұрын
Sometimes for the award shows, they will pre record some things. I feel like the 3rd song was definitely pre recorded. But I'm not sure. It was probably pre recorded for a stage change and rest for the members. They are still singing live, but probably not for the live broadcast.

The guys repeated there solos live for us in the audience while the home viewers saw the pre recorded versions. Jimin had no pre recorded version. His was all live. I foolishly didn’t take a photo of his dance as the spotlight was so strong I couldn’t see him in my phone camera. I have a nice photo of Jin performing to my left while the giant screen up above showed his pre recorded dance to the tv audience. I don’t know why there is a general belief that they did not perform solo to us there while the pre recorded versions were televised. It’s not correct. The horses and aerialists however were not live but the girls, who were international students recruited, were there at night as were the harpists.
