I just finished my first playthrough of sekiro 2 days ago and to be honest at the start it was difficult because of the learning curve but after that no bosses took me over 20 tries other than isshin sword saint, so far in my experience elden ring has been harder than sekiro.

@@beardedangler7794 oh wow! first of all, congratulations for beating sekiro! About elden ring being harder than Sekiro, I also have a friend that says the same thing! I guess ill have my opinion of which game is harder when i finish it 🫡 ahah

@@WestendeYT Elden Ring is actually the easiest Soulslike. Simply because of the options available to you. The world is completely open, for Miquella's sake! People who think it's harder than Sekiro simply choose a weak build, one without shieldpoke lol. Even a +0 medium shield can carry you all the way through both the base game and the DLC. With the right weapon and stats ofc. But you should find those out on your own. And let's not forget the ability to summon both other players and Spirit Ashes to help you, in Elden Ring. The very existence of this possibility makes it easier than Sekiro, the fact that serious players don't use them doesn't change that fact. And I wouldn't recommend using them. It kills the fun, the sense of accomplishment. Especially if you played Sekiro first, like I did. Sure, I have only tried magic+summon 3 runs and shieldpoke without summon for another 3 runs. Perhaps the most broken stuff you can choose in Elden Ring. But that still means I beat the game 6 times. And the DLC twice.

Sekiro is the hardest to learn but the easiest to master. Once you get the hang of it, everything is kinda easy. Isshin difficulty is so overrated. I am terrible at Sekiro. some miniboss 5 hours in took me 50 tries to beat it, Demon of Hatred took over 50, and Isshin just took me 61 tries? (about 15 of which were deaths to Genichiro XD) I was kinda disappointed by how RELATIVELY easy he was

@@dimabodnaruk35 interesting, so the difficult part is to learn, but to master is easier than the other games?
@dimabodnaruk356 ай бұрын
@@WestendeYT Yes. The game is very unique, it's very hard to understand how to play it properly. But once you do get the hang of it, it gets progressively easier. And by getting easier it does NOT get any more boring. The fights just become more and more satisfying. Even though I was slightly underwhelmed by the fact that Isshin was not nearly as hard as people have pictured him to be, I still received massive pleasure from fighting him, and he is probably my favourite boss out of all FromSoft games I've played (though I've only played Elden Ring, DS3 and Sekiro). A very important part is to learn the skill called "Mikiri counter" and learn how to use it properly. It will be of great help to you.
@WestendeYT6 ай бұрын
@@dimabodnaruk35 ok ok ok! ill get that mikiri counter (even tho idk what that is) but since ur telling me, i believe u :p My friend also said the same thing, that the game gets more satisfying and that it feels more like a "dance" once you learn how to fight and the boss paterns
@dimabodnaruk356 ай бұрын
@@WestendeYT ok so when you sit on an idol, you can level up some skills. There is a skill called “mikiri counter”. What it does, is when you see the red symbol, it means that the attack is not parriable. But if that “red” attack is a thrust attack and you have mikiri counter learned, you can dash into the attack and counter it, dealing very decent posture damage. Maybe it’s just me but I personally have struggled a lot before I learned how to do mikiri

Other Soulslike are like kindergarten compared to Sekiro. Except maybe Lies of P. But if we're talking no charm+bell in the Gauntlets, Sekiro is in a league of its own. And you could even decide to fight those with base health and no skills upgraded, turning it into an SL1 experience on NG+7 in games like Elden Ring. But the only way Elden Ring would ever be harder is if you also went in with a +0 weapon, which is actually insane. At its core, Sekiro is simply more complex than dodging at the right time. So mistakes are way more likely to occur. That's why they added a ress function, it would just be too insane without it. The true hardmode would be to deflect everything, including thrusts and sweeps. Dumbing it down to just deflecting, compared to just dodging in the other Soulslike, actually makes it harder. So yeah, there is no argument for any other Soulslike being harder. Not even if you play a Sekiro-build.

@@WestendeYT I put up a run where I gather everything I deem necessary, meaning I killed every miniboss and boss. It's almost 6 hours long but it might give you some pointers, if you get stuck. But on a first run, getting everything is probably gonna take closer to 50 hours. I have beaten the game 37 times now, I think. So yeah, the more you play the easier it will feel. But there are actually 4 difficulties, normal is the easiest one. There is also bell, no charm and no charm+bell. Sekiro on normal is still the hardest game I ever played, I'm just saying that you can make it even harder hehe.
