@@swaginih a 50% buff would be equivalent to “+1” to a stat in Pokemon. “+2” is equal to a 100% buff. If you take half as much damage, that means that it would be equivalent to a +2 or 100% buff to spec def.

You should try offensive Alomomola on a rain team. It has rest hydration and life orb boosted liquidation, play rough and scale shot. With Max speed and a attack I was able to do some pretty fun sweeps with it..

Actually in "STABMONS" it goes crazy hard (stabmon, where you can give your pokemon any move, as long as the mon get's stab) with torch song and speed boost is basically using a nasty plot that does damage

I remember doing the battle tower in Sword with a rain team until I got to Leon. I had so much fun building a Frosmoth with the sole purpose of it being a sp def tank. Frosmoth max sp def + ice scales + quiver dance + rain was able to survive Leon's Charizard's fire moves as a bug/ice type. It was soo satisfying lmao

Frosmoth is insanely underrated. With tera it can ditch its terrible type combo and become actually rly hard to take out. It's a menace after a Quiver Dance and literally 1v1s any special attacker in the game after that, Ice Scales makes it great at dealing with Expanding Force teams too. It also has several good support moves, namely Wide Guard. I use it in Showdown Doubles OU literally all the time with GREAT success. (In doubles stealth rock is also extremely rare so you can use other items like life orb or sitrus berry).

Loaded Dice Forretress was a goofy idea I used during a playthrough. It learns Pin Missile and Rock Blast. Power Trick/Curse can be used to Boost and Body Press lets you go nuts with its sky high defense. Try making that work!

Speaking of underused ice types - I'd love to see a physical Froslass one day. People keep forgetting that it has access to poltergeist and literally every strong physical ice move ever, and even Trailblaze to increase its already decent speed. Only thing it lacks is a way of boosting its attack, but choice band combined with trick is always an option, or something like weakness policy due to its unfortunate typing

Frosmoth is unironically my favorite gen 8 pokemon. I wanted to see what they did with the worst type and they gave us an alternate Volcarona. Which is one of my favorite bugs. I was THRILLED. I like its coverage, its speed is DEFINITELY lacking from its defenses

Shell Smash sets are the coolest ways to use Pokemon with their weaker offensive stats, since it doubles both Attack and Special Attack. I would love to see Special Cloyster, Physical Blastoise, Physical Magcargo, and any set of Shell Smash Torkoal (probably the only Pokemon that gets Shell Smash but never uses it) would be awesome to see.

It's a 50% reduction in SpAtk damage received. So effectively a 100% boost to total SpDEF, not even base.

I see you use Throat Spray recently with Special sets. You could try Special Tyranitar. It has Roar and Snarl to activate Throat Spray. Though Snarl has a chance to miss, it does have a Dark stab. It's 95 Sp.Atk is not bad either.

I've got a story about a Frosmoth, though most of it is when he was a Snom. Back when I was still working at McDonald's (thanks a lot tech job market you are still *ASS* btw), I was playing a lot of Emerald Rogue on dinner breaks. During a run of Emerald Rogue, there's a pseudo Nuzlocke thing going on where, if a mon faints, it's out of your party for the rest of the run. Because of the nature of the game, a lot of time dependent or friendship based evolutions are replaced with stone evolutions. So on one run, I find a shiny Snom. Naturally, I catch him, expecting it won't be hard to find a Moon Stone and I'm loaded due to Baleog the Perrserker fiercely spamming Pay Day at every opportunity; when it's not at the next rest stop, I give The Boi an Eviolite, its hidden ability Ice Scales, and some decent moves. Who knows, I think, maybe Mirror Coat might be useful. After two or three gyms, I still haven't found a single Moon Stone. And worse yet, I lose Baleog and LIZARD the Salazzle to a gym with three Alcremies that had coverage for their counters, and a trainer catches me on the way to the tall grass. My Guzzlord AAAAAAAAAA is able to beat most of his team, but its HP is low and his Jynx directly threatens it. I have three other options: FliGonJinn (double weak to Ice), Solaire the Helioptile (not nearly bulky enough)... and The Boi. I switch in The Boi, expecting not to have a chance against any coverage, and at most being able to buy a few turns to throw a potion at AAAAAAAAAA... But with Eviolite and Ice Scales, The Boi tanks it no problem. The Jynx is choiced, or at least I assume it's choiced because it keeps clicking Ice Beam instead of any Psychic coverage (though even Mystical Fire wouldn't have OHKOd), and The Boi takes it down with Mirror Coat. I get past the trainer, reach the grass and rebuild my team. From there, The Boi comes in on a few more Ice moves, but I eventually find a Moon Stone and a Protect TM, so The Boi can evolve and scout for double weaknesses, and the rest of the run is easily swept with Quiver Dance strats.
