Honestly I think this epitomizes what a dark type should be. Swagger as a gamble between confusion and boosting the opponents attack. Mirror herb to "steal" that attack. Sucker punch and moxie to snowball the match.

Yeah they should give dark a status of some kind too. It would give them a bit more identity other than STAB knock off. Also swaggers not a gamble on special attackers just means they hurt themselves more and you could maybe use Foul play if you're built tanky.

They could easily create a few more variations on status we already have. We've had regular poison and toxic poison since gen 1 We still have regular para, burn, sleep, confusion, etc.

Honchkrow does also get Acrobatics for a slightly weaker but still VERY strong physical Flying type move option that unlike Brave Bird, doesn’t do recoil damage. Although it REQUIRES the usage of the Mirror Herb to get the boosted power.

Thought it started out just as a 50 BP. Think the mechanic was introduced in Crystal. Ruby/Sapphire at the latest. Edit: Per the wiki, in Gens 1 and 2 it was a 50 BP with 90% accuracy and a 30% chance to flinch. It gained the effect in Gen 3.

So, let's say we have a Bibarel with Swords Dance or Curse and the Mirror Herb. Let's say we're in Doubles. Partner Pokemon goes for a Swagger on the opponent, triggers Bibarel's Mirror Herb, Bibarel uses Curse to cap out its Attack, spams Aqua Jet for the rest of the battle.

Honchkrow would be great for a dimorphic Pokemon. Males keep the Physical Attack and their Special Attack is dropped and split between defenses, maybe with males having higher Special and female having higher physical. The only other change is maybe make them a little slower and a little more HP to complement the defenses and make it outshine Mandibuzz, Corviknight, and most importantly, Murkrow, again.
