The motive in our heart of hearts. That’s what The Most High, Jehovah is looking for and looking at, as best that I can tell.

My mother taught me to be clean and neat, for which I’m grateful . That’s not to say I didn’t want what other girls had, to dress in the latest style, to attract the boys, etc. I did, but my mother being very stubborn hardly ever gave in. As I began raising my own children, the tables were turned, and I slowly realized the wisdom of my mother. There have been so many times in my adult years that I felt much gratitude to her for teaching me modesty, prudence, “making do” and appreciating with what I did have!

Oh my….. I truly loved this ! I can’t explain here why, but it hits home when I was trying to explain to a friend who was upset more because her son couldn’t get into a fraternity for the ‘exclusive’, when she was saying all his check marks were in place……. But I explained to her, I would be more concerned about his spiritual life than trying to fit into the ‘rich, unchristian, wild’ life….. but she couldn’t understand what I was saying…….. thank you for this….. Blessings be upon you and those that heed the valuable lesson here.

That’s a hard lesson to teach some people, especially in today’s world. Too much interest is placed on the material rather than the inward self.

I’ve understood this to be about the pride and haughtiness. I see it closer than I care to right now. Its probably been there waiting for the right time to be seen.

Sad but oh so true, and not only on the women's side, a case could be drawn up for the men too and their toy trinkets. It is not the adornment on the outside that matters, rather the Crown is the modesty and humility a woman has in their submission to the One who is Almighty and Most Powerful, the Lord our God. A woman can be a blessing to a man, or strike terror in the heart of a man, by her the way she walks, acts, thinks and lives either in manipulation to have her way, or in reverence and deference to God and family. This is a great and sombering word. Too many a woman has taken down (a willing - yet unwitting chap - per Solomon) ruining them. Not that the man was unwilling, for he was drawn out by his own lust and trespass to an area he had no business being in. Most knew better, but were conquered by wiles.

Excellent word, just a point that some might think the message is that God is against women looking good, jewelry etc. No He's not and other scriptures bears that out, The main point is pride, arrogance and over empmasis on materialism. Btw I have seen women who don't wear jewelry etc, and display less true Godly character than some who do wear jewelry etc. Character is the key and we must always also be careful not to make a judgment on outward appearance. A woman dressing and wearing makeup and jewelry can be much more humble than one who doesn't looking more plain.

We have to believe that whenever God disciplines His children or judges the wicked, that the actions of God are appropriate. God has all wisdom and all knowledge. He judges beyond what we are able to understand or know. We can always trust that God will always do the right thing. Thanks for writing.

Do research on make up. Makeup was applied on harlots (prostitutes) and in our day it started out in dramas (actors) playing a villain or harlot. You wouldn’t find women wearing it back in the day. Dig a little and talk to God. I was a makeup queen and saw the light. Love this life. He will teach you
