I actually have a question. It's kinda dumb but can I get into the photography industry without a camera, I want to figure out what I can do before I get one.
@Umairs144 жыл бұрын
I agree with u as i have been the part of the same industry for the last 3 years for now and been learning the same thing. Its such a delightful thing to see a fellow wedding film maker and photographer guiding others towards a successful business in this industry. Love from Pakistan

@@achromatic9830 You can, I did. You NEED to learn about photography, have a passion for it, learn some basics about the settings and light preferably and you can borrow a camera for a paying job (I shot a billboard as my first paying job with a borrowed beginner D7000 - all in a studio, all learned in few days - of course looking backwards I did a terrible job, but the client liked it and I have moved a lot since then). You can, but be responsible. Also shooting on a mobile phone is a great way to learn the light, composition, almost everything important, the same goes with a virtual photo shooting, just when you walk, you think how and what would you take a picture of. And why this way. What angle, why. What lighting and why. What settings and why. And how would you improve every single thing. How on the scene, how in a different conditions. And you will learn a lightspeed way. Wish you the best and a great video Taylor, thank you, had the very same experience. Sad in the beginning, freedom now. (And I take assistants and second shooters for me now and I try to explain them everything if they want to learn. And I believe it is mainly because I have been on the other side).

P.S. Recorded this in February. Things are a bit different now, but this advice still applies in the long term

Instead of asking the other photographers to go with them I directly put myself up as 'free service' for the couple's. Most won't say no to some extra pictures - as long as their original photographer does not say no because of you afterwards.

Ya that’s a good idea but I think ppl want the second shoot because they want to learn from other professional photographers

same. I even offered to tag along as a second or third shooter, for free just to build my portfolio. Some photographers are very unwelcoming to newcomers.

@@caliyahfranco yes i had that same problem. Just wanted to use some photos and learn the wedding industry. They told me no so i had teach myself. Started with creativelive and slr lounge.

Thanks for sharing! you’ve helped me a lot. You’re right, most of photographers we reach out to won’t answer but there is always one waiting for help. I’ve second shoot 4 weddings so far and my main goal is to assist, help and learn before getting “my pictures” for my portfolio. Right now I’m not interested in making money from it I know that will come eventually.
