My friend according to a recent report most airports in India, especially the smaller ones are running in loss. While the air travel is quick, because the airport approach is very expensive. Study the Londons Heathrow airport. How well it is connected to most parts of the city via the tube. In India to reach the airport from home in a taxi due to baggage turns out to be exorbitant. This is for the reason airport transports are not linked to the, city. The passengers are fleeced by taxi drivers like leeches.

The answer is simple: if you have ever tried taking an international flight on Air India, you would notice just how old those planes are. They are falling apart, the seats are not comfortable, the cushioning is almost non-existent, the side armrests are mostly crooked, and the entertainment center is terrible and ancient. I took the flight 2-3 times due to emergencies, and it was a bad experience. However, the smaller planes within India that I have traveled on about 4 times are in much better shape, newer, cleaner, and not falling apart. So, India buying new planes to replace those old ones is a good idea. Kudos to India for finally seeing the problem and fixing it! 👏👏

Maybe the short routes like CCU-PAT or HYD-PUNE, but longer routes will always need planes. India's growing middle income segment is growing and demand will also increase.

thats for close by domestic routes not long routes, the ordering of new planes is a step towards making air india a big global name as common as other big airlines like sq and emirates which can be a airline which many people use as a hub and to travel to many countries
