The 89 hand is a perfect example of when to use the "same bet" trick. So many players see the same bet on the turn as weakness. If you'd have bet $100 again I wouldn't have been surprised if someone makes a move on you.

I played there about five years ago and when I walked down the downstairs, it was completely dark and dank and there was a couple old guys milling around. Pretty sketchy, but ended up being fun.

hey Lex, I've been watching your videosfor some time now. however I think this is the first time I think I've heard you bring up wrestling.I myself wrestled from 4yrs old til I was 19. I am from PA. Which was and still is #1 however other states have gotten better. In high school they used to have a dual meet at the end of the season called the Dapper Dan Classic. This dual meet took the top placing senior in the PA state tournament in each weight class and matched them against the top ranking senior in the Rest of the Country. Thats how good PA is at wrestling. Not only did I wrestle folkstyle, but also freestyle as well as Greco- roman that means wrestling year round constantly cutting weight. In high school I would cut 20 lbs in the beginning of the season and I could lose 5 lbs in an hour if need be. My favorite bragging point is. ... Ursinus college held a freestyle dual meet between Team USA and Team Russia back in 1995 ish. When I was 7 I got to wrestle a match during Intermission of that Dual Meet. I warmed up with a Russian Olympian at such an early age... Keep putting out these videos. Thanks and Good Luck

The table just started 20 mins before you were seated. BTW you were in the weak/rec 5-5 that also just started. Come back on Fri-Sat theres 5-10-20 & 3- 5/5 tables playing or during the day when the regular "pros" are on the 5-5 the stacks get chucky. Great playing with you!

I've heard a saying, if you're good at wrestling, you'll be good at anything in life. My son does high school wrestling and wrestles a high-level club as well. I'm from CT, and his coach brings his team to PA to wrestle as well, because in his words "Connecticut wrestlers are bad, if you want to get better you have to wrestle better opponents."

Just moved to Melbourne myself for SW FL. Card room is 98% regulars day in and day out the same faces. HH promos are decent. There are no other card rooms for 100 miles, the closest is 75 miles in Dayton. Port St. Lucie card room is trash 13 tables and dead. Everyone drives the extra 60 miles north to Melbourne. Avg 4-5 1/2 tables and 2 5-5 tables going. Small tournaments buy in, biggest is 130. You have to drive to Hard Rock Miami or Tampa for bigger tournaments.

Good call with the 89 spade flush. Honestly i would have folded because it's such an underbluffed line on the river. (especially because the bluff was from a female player) And i also expect a pair turned into a bluff (or a random hand with the K of spades) to check-raise bigger to create more foldequity. So the bet looked very value heavy. So i can see why you almost folded. 👍👍👍👍❤❤❤❤

The 98s hand, first you showed in the 5-5; you hit the full house on the turn. There's a straight on the board, and many draws to a straight, plus a flush draw...pot is 360 (I think)...isn't a 25-40% bet a better play than checking last to act? Most of those draws aren't folding to a bet of that size. Now if they hit their draw, they may not bet into a paired board, but they will still make a 50% pot sized bet. BUT, if they miss their draws, they aren't calling anything on the river.

I have a soft spot for it but when I was there I couldn’t wait to get away from it

People go for draws because they know they will get bailed out by running it twice. Run it once and they will think before calling next time
@aqn197613 күн бұрын
1000% AGREED!!! People do not seem realize this as your comment is one of the very few times I have seen it in numerous vlogs!!! I agree on run-it-twice due to variance in the rare case if engaged in a HUGE pot... but to be open to running it twice makes you a target for more bluffs w/ the opponent gaining fold equity being bailed out w/ two boards if caught making a move!!!

You call with the 89 of spades on the raise. It is not a huge bet when you hit your hand. If they have the bigger flush, then you take your cooler like a man. Folding on a raise on the river becomes extremely exploitable. The only way you fold is if you really know the player type and have a read that they are nitty tight, and only raise with a big flush.

@arthurcheater335912 күн бұрын
mistake at 4:45 imo. Don't check back your full house to trap in position with multiple players. bet small and get value from draws. Different in a better talented lineup but you lose all value by betting big on the river. Your other option is better really small to induce on the river or turn.

Hey Lex, I live in Melbourne. Club 52 is Brevard’s only card room. The 1/2 is way too shallow at 200$ max buy in unless they get a 1/2 TS game where things can get more interesting. The 5/5 TS is typically the big game, but on weekends they have 5/10 TS which can def go off the rails. Players at the big game are all mostly regs who know each other. Mostly retirees with big pockets. Weaker compared to the Hard Rock by all standards. The lady player might be “Sheeba” from the sounds of it. Solid player who usually shows the goods on river bombs or re-raises. Solid call, but the sizing wasn’t enough. Too bad I missed you. Hilarious that you tried the ice cream sandwich lol. GGs
