Awesome session, Gaz. I was at coventry last week. The cash games are nuts! I'm gutted that you didn't get any of our crazy pot folds on camera though (unless they wasn't doing them). For those wondering, it's like a PLO bomb pot. Everyone puts in £5, the dealer deals the flop first then deals 5 cards to each player. You either have to call the pot or fold. Then the turn and river are dealt and the best 2 cards out of your 5 with 3 from the community cards wins. In a 1/2 game the pots are usually around £200 - £250. Really really fun!

@garyblackwoodpoker you have to ask when they're doing a dealer change. Hopefully I'll qualify for the UKPL so may see you there but if not I'll probably come fpr the cash and side events anyway 😉

On the set of 66 why bet big on the river? Wouldn’t it make more sense to xr? Of he has a K or 2 pair he’s probably betting himself. And anything else (other than AQ)is folding to a big bet anyway right?
@garyblackwoodpoker2 күн бұрын
If he checks back AQ or AK it's a complete disaster. Also if he has AJ we lose less by bet/folding than check/shoving. I prefer betting ourselves.
@Awre18Күн бұрын
@@garyblackwoodpoker dont you think the big bet on turn kinda restricts the amount of AJ he will have? also AQ might fold anyway to a larger size, lets say it calls like 60-70% of the time which i believe is the case with most live players, in that scenario I just feel like you gain more from targeting top part of range his KJ, KQ,KT, AKh by either going for a massive overbet, or X Jamming. 8:00 "I don't want anyone to draw to the nuts very cheaply" - really concentrating at one specific villain's holding (Axo with Ac) and no other possible holding. Also playing face up as fk, limiting your range,as no overpair or probably even sets will raise flop. Is this really how good poker looks like?
@garyblackwoodpoker2 күн бұрын
Good poker involves disregarding how your range is perceived vs recreationals because they don't think about that. Bad poker involves worrying about playing "face up as fuck" vs them. My advice to you is to broaden your mind :)
@anthonyf5962 күн бұрын
@@garyblackwoodpoker i agree with you Gary. I would have personally flatted the flop, and see if someone behind has an overpair or even a straight draw that might come along for a cheap price. You can bet/raise all turns that arent a club or pair the board, and flat anything percieved as scary. That being said, there are always table dynamics and player archetypes that come into play, and you were at that table, and i was not, so i can never say that your line was incorrect.
