4:28 IM IN IT!!!! It was the only time i won one of these races, other times the race would’ve not loaded the race properly at the beginning so you would be racing and the checkpoints wont be loaded in, nice to know i bumped into to the man himself. GG! 🤩

Ubisoft understands how terrain works with altitude etc. This world looks great with all the jumps and drops etc. :)

Those sorts of "massive online races" with dozens of players was first done (I think) by Riders Republic, another ubisoft title. They're called Mass Races in that game, I'm guessing the idea kinda transitionned from RR to Motorfest.

I think they were the first to do an actual race like that and not like forza's eliminator. But if you ever played riders republic the mass races are cool at first but once everyone starts learning the tracks its just a massive pile up and with collision on it's a nightmare

One thing about this race is that if you start in the back of the grid it is so hard to catch up to the front, I played this race and I was able to get to about 10 but the people who started in the first couple rows already have the advantage of starting much closer to the finish line, and if they run a good race it is almost impossible to catch them because they have the combined advantage of running a good race which is something you can do but starting what's closer to the finish line which is something you don't have

The main thing is that if you start up front, you don't have to worry about running into people or people running into you.

@@swype.media-9309 Honestly the contact is part of the fun lol. I played it many times and it was honestly never an issue, the contact physics are majority of the time very forgiving and the slipstream is still super strong.

you know what would be insane? If they let you do this race but you can set which car you want to run for which section of the race in the pre race menu. Then "strategies" come into action in these races and that is insane.

Hey not sure if you realized it, but the cars have drag gain on them so if you follow a player behind them you gain a boost speed which is why all those Porsches passed you at 3:10

I had reoccurring problem with The Grand Race, it wouldn’t spawn in the checkpoints until 30 seconds to a minute have passed by, which is a guaranteed DNF. Other than that it was phenomenal.

Yup, you are the right audience for this game. The driving physics are worse than a toddler driving in a cardboard box in his bedroom, but I can drive potatoes with other low-hanging fruit.

Worth mentioning all cars in these events are upgraded automatically to max level and all part perks are removed to give everyone an equal chance. Which is great for me since i don't wanna no life grind for nos perk sets.

You didn't miss much, past crew games have been too big and the driving physics have been pretty bad. This game should have a dense map in comparison and hopefully the driving physics have improved greatly... but I kind of doubt it.
