Great video! I was at Coyote volunteering and I'm the guy who was assisting you in the video. I remember you being very easy going and all smiles. It was a rewarding experience for me to be a part of your adventure. Keep being the awesome person you are!

Billy , I live over here in Scotland UK .. bit of a runner myself but I had a couple of tough years just a while back , but about 2 years ago I started watching KZbin, one of the first long runs I watched was you running some 100k race ,I can't remember where and won't lie , I was in tears 😢 because I had lost that ability to run through having cancer but I asked God to help ,( as silly as it sounds ) and next day I tried to run not good but just run , I've spent the last 2cyears getting fit and still watching you and others now, almost every runner and hike ,camp video I can find , this weekend I'm running in my 8th event in 5 months ,doesn't sound a lot when they are only 5 and 10k so far but I'm nearly stepping up again ,and my times are good as 50mins 10k for a 54 year old guy isn't too bad ,so I've just watched this and saw that doubt just before the end , well at that point I Decide tomorrow I'm going out for a long but slow and careful run ,maybe ( hopefully 20k or so ,no times just fun ) and I'm gonna say to myself one day I'm gonna be running with you guys . Nothing is impossible.. Loving your videos man ,you seem like a great guy and wish you and the family all the best for 2023 .. my apologies for the length of this comment 😅 .. ciao

I'm so happy to read that you're on the bend. 5K...100K...doesn't matter, as long as you're finding fulfillment and challenging yourself, that's really all that matters. Hope we can share some kms/miles one day. Take care and blessings to you too
@deldridg Жыл бұрын
Wow - thank you for your story. I'm totally humbled by your words and am so happy that you're finding your way back to doing what you love. Here in Sydney, I"ve had a challenging few months, almost losing my beautiful dad to a major heart event. In some ways I've "dropped the ball", feeling very emotionally worn but having read about your trials and watched a few of Billy's wonderful short movies here, I think I'm ready to get back to my trail running. I'm 54 too and need to get back out there. So I'll be running with you in spirit tomorrow. Take care and keep at it buddy! Cheers - Dave (big thanks to you too Billy and Hilary - love your work)

Stop that, 4 miles is 4 miles. That's 4 miles more than the person on the couch, and truthfully ANY runner, in my opinion, is a legend.

I only use Maurten gels. I also use Maurten drink mix( and Beta Fuel). I love the Maurten gels because the consistency is jelly-like and has *zero flavor*...Maurten gels also can be taken without water...I do this personally and it works. try that with a GU. btw, my day before hydro-loading basically consists of eating potato chips...I can easily add a couple pounds of water this way.
