@@DunlopJ The problem was the Oil money bred EGO. El-Khaleifi thought the money could make them bigger than REAL MADRID. MBappe has always wanted to go to RM and in 2021 when he had a year left on his contract RM offered the Qatari owners of PSG $200M (remember now?). Al-Khaleifi turned it down saying he was not selling at any cost (MBappe had asked to leave). He then embarked on a personal feud with Perez and RM then did not wanted to negotiate (or reward ) them anymore. Later he wanted RM to make an offer but we kept our stance. So - PSG doesn't get to recoup any money because of their dumb behaviour. BTW - we kept that $200M and invested it in Bellingham and Tchouameni and the joining bonus for MBappe himself. Make sense?
