Love that extra finger on the bucket. So much more versatile.

Have you checked into the splitters that mount on an excavator? I’ve seen 2 different types, on looks like a standard inverted unit, and one that uses a wedge in place of the bucket, and a plate on the arm that is adjustable.

If you're doing 40 - 50 full cords of firewood each year, it's time to invest in a commercial grade splitter. The 2 you have are essentially glaciers when it comes to cycle time.

@@onlyetmI'm aware of that. Most commercial log splitters on the market have a cycle time of 4-6 seconds. So as long as you can keep the machine fed, it will be vastly quicker than what he is using now. Even if the guys are splitting on their off hours, I am sure they have other things they would like to do with their time.

@bwillan the spitfire was in the back they are a dual action machine. Split probably 60-100 cord through one. Not sure why buddy was using the single action.

Every time you handle/work wood, it goes up in value ie the smaller you cut it the more valueable it becomes.

Steve Leito just released a video today that sounds a lot like your land flooded problem with the city. The upside is that the landowner won and at the Supreme Court no less, talking to the city attorney now might get you some action without having to have your own lawyer file a suit and taking it through where the city "decide" to fix it and avoid a suit will be a whole lot less likely to create enemies.

Yep , that's all we have done this winter to stay busy is cut trees and split firewood. The ground is frozen but not for much longer 😮

I don’t get why you don’t rent a big processor every year or few years and bulk cut a bunch in the spring or fall you’d save the money in labor hours alone

Stan my new favorite go to tool for tree removals is my u35 Kubota ex Ash trees have so much raking involved once you drop them just shatter into thousands upon thousands of small sticks probably took down a few hundred last year alone my guys hate the raking after chipping large brush have a day of cleanup if there is a dozen or so trees removed on a property

Have you ever heard of a period or a comma? It's called punctuation & it was taught back in 1st grade. Try it sometime.

Yea, I went to summer school after first grade because I had a girlfriend and failed the grade. Which you never had, and I make more in a year than you will make in a lifetime. Get out of your parents' basement and go vote for your Liberal friend Biden

I work for a non-profit who is in the process of looking for a new gas powered reg cab lwb heavy duty pickup to replace our 2008 ram 2500. We are getting quotes for all 3 and all 3 are within $2k. We are being quoted the 6.4 w/8 speed, 6.6 w/10 speed allison, and 6.8 w/10 speed. I do like the extra cab space in the Ram but dont know much about reliability of new 10 speed transmissions and the 6.6 and 6.8 engines for gm and ford. Any suggestions or comments?

You need one of those work brow rakes like Mike Morgan on Outdoors With the Morgan's has on his excavator for cleaning up brush.

Got my notice for cleaning up a nasty yard of dead broken trees, unidentifiable brush and massive pines that were falling down, had no idea a permit was needed, can't get ahold of the city on the phone and they want $300-$1000 a tree. Somehow they counted 65!!!!
