Thx! To be honest, my fastest laps were 10+ seconds faster than in the video. Actually i just tested my camera/mic setup there for the first time. Suspension is a Bilstein Callaway setup with some Progress sway bars.

Nice smooth laps in the Z. Really surprised you mostly just used 3rd gear through the track instead of bumping it down to 2nd in the tight spots. That 7L has the torque to pull through 3rd really well though so it may have only been able to shave off a little time on your laps. Love the way your sounds, what's all done to it so far? And which steering wheel is that? Thing is awesome!

Thank you! Were not my fastest laps, just wanted to test the camera and microphone setup. But you´re right, 2nd in tight spots would be a bit faster. Changed already many things, but the car looks almost stock: Suspension, ZR1 spoilers and sway bars. Engine everything NA related except cam. Roll bar, Recaro seats and ZR1 brake(steel). @@corvetteZ3r drive something different now. upgrade to zr1 would make everything stiffer, but the handling (especially the loose rear) would remain because both bars are just thicker. I switched to PROGRESS sway bars. so I now have almost the thickness of a T1 (35mm) in the front, but in the rear I am at the thickness of a Z51 (25mm). Now I have a front that is very solid and a rear that twists slightly and thus the rear wheels have a lot of grip and almost no oversteer occurs. But have a roll bar installed additionally.

@@halblegal You've done it EXACTLY the right way, you want that rear end to have the slightest give, or twist as you put it, so that it can absorb road irregularities and just corner better. A lot of people get the ass end too tight and it has a tendency to break traction.

Why are you not downshifting? Yes, it makes torque down low and you can ride it out but everything works better using the correct gear, especially in low speed corners where being in a lower gear gets the diff working better on decel so you can tuck in better.

I have the LS7 in my 2013 427 CE roadster. What gears did you use (corners/straights)? I have not been able to push over 5000 RPM yet as the police would impound me at the corresponding speed.

Nice car mate 🍻 In this video (was testing my setup) it was almost all the time the 3rd and on the straights the 4th. The car feels pretty good between 4000 and 7000 RPM. On hot laps i use 2nd/3rd for all the corners and short straights and the 4th for the longer straights.. With this monster torque numbers no need to go to the 1st unless you have slicks.

I only run out to 7 if it matters... peak hp in my car is about 63-6400 (.655/.655 240-250 - 114LSA). So max acceleration where you want/need the extra revs on the up shift, yes. Road course, I'll short shift.
