Very nice. You mention custom ration 6060 and the 3.73 rear. Any chance on sharing the TR6060 ratios? Are they stock ZR1? Since you don't seem to use 1st, only 2nd for slow corners and get up to 5th at times, how is your top end in 6th? I have full aero (ACP splitter under-tray and wing and L5 fronts and rear to run wider rubber) on my C5Z 427 build. I have been undecided on what path to take for my needed tranny/diff rebuilds. To keep 3.42 and go custom ratios in the transmission or stay stock ZR1 ratio 6060 and 3.73. How are you dealing with oil cooling? Even with a big cooler I am seeing high summer oil temps. My current answer is just dont run the car in the summer :) Either way, nice car and nice driving - I would make contact on CForum except I was banned waaay back for not bowing to the elite CForum rulers :)

The flat bottomed wheel helps the hands know where they are on the steering wheel if they ever have to move from 9 and 3. Sounds silly, but if you're too busy looking down the track while pegging 4th gear, your hands should be able to back you up from making an incorrect steering input. Also, it helps make room for your legs if for any reason you can't tilt or remove the steering wheel on egress.

I do some similar driving for a couple companies as an instructor, and have a friend who I teach with that also works at Katech here in Michigan. They have an engine build option for the C5 Z that caught my attention. They call it the Johnny O'Connel package. I'm just looking for reliable power without forced induction, and 20-30 minutes per session of handling / braking that can piss off any high end toy that I'm likely to come across at any of the tracks that I teach at.

Pete Mullin I’m not trying to sell you, just trying to guide you.

Oh, I know. And I still totally appreciate that. Sorry if you thought that I was trying to brush off a used car salesman. Not my intent. Any guidance towards acquiring my own C5 Z, and getting it to sound as angry as yours is welcomed.

when down shifting coming out of the longer striaghts, are you letting the clutch out for every gear you downshift through ? example from 5th to 3rd. are you heal toeing to 4th letting out the clutch while still maintaining brake pressure, then heal toeing to 3rd ? I've always been unsure about the proper way to do it
@AdamTobolowsky8 жыл бұрын
@Brax_beezy that's a great question, I am releasing the clutch, watch my legs. Delaying the downshifts is key when coming from 6th>2nd. It gives you more time to between gears so you can release the clutch, it doesn't overslow The car etc.
@Beezy_Builds8 жыл бұрын
when you say delaying the downshift what do you mean , exactly
@AdamTobolowsky8 жыл бұрын
@Brax_beezy delaying the downshift as keep your foot on the brake pedal for 1 second longer and start your downshifting process later in the brake zone, this way you don't over blip and don't over slow the car. Delay as in time delay.

@Brax_beezy notice my hand on the shifter on the high speed brake zone downshifts, how I always pause for a second or so
