Thank you for this video. As a fellow curly, who never uses styling products, I get really overwelmed by all the products and the techniques etc. So thank you for showing the world that we don't need all that product. Curly hair is fabulous anyway!

Konstantina Ts. Can I ask what type of hair you have? Like curl type and if it’s damaged at all? My hair is super healthy (rarely use heat and no dyes or bleach) but it’s still frizzy even with products. I’d love to give my wallet a break!
@konstanina.ts.5 жыл бұрын
Kiera Frost Hi! I have 2c-3b curls (I think!) and my hair is also really healthy. No dyes, no heat damage, no split ends. Also, it is baby fine. Since I am from Greece, I can't find lots of hair products that are specifically for curls. I use a sulfate-free shampoo and a silicone-free conditioner. Anyones I can find. Also, dry shampoo for the days between wash days, because my scalp is oily. Rarely, I will use a styler. A gel or a mousse. Gels have food hold, but, in general, I hate the feel. So I go product free. I have a little bit of frizz, but I don't mind. I find it that healthy hair doesn't frizz as much as damaged hair. But, I think, a light-hold gel will help you with that. Hope this was helpful!

Konstantina Ts. Oh cool! I’ll give it a try then! Why not, right? Can’t look much worse lol. Thank you!!

I never use styling products and found out they exist recently. Tried to shop them online and realized the shipping cost is twice the actual amount. So i still go product free. I use a sulfate shampoo ( i prefer my scalp to be clean. Sulfate free shampoo left my scalp oily and i didnt like it ) and a silicon free curly grl friendly conditioner. I scrunch a bit of coconut oil into my hair after the shower. And it helps with the frizz.

My hair naturally forms these curls but I've always just brushed everything out while it's wet. Trying to start developing my curls now with the scrunching and curl defining shampoo/conditioner. I'm just glad I finally have an explanation for why my hair always tangles so easily and why my new growth could never be tamed.

@meganwagstaff56495 жыл бұрын
@@hananibrahim6751 I do sleep with a silk pillowcase :) I basically had to start from scratch the next day. My curls were too fuzzy and undefined to salvage. I tried using a bit of oil on damp hair to encourage clumping, but it just wasn't working. I had to re-wet and use a leave-in. No product life isn't the life for me, I suppose!

I dunno exactly how your hair is, but I only wash twice a week, and I don't use conditioner anymore (six months woo!) I got a boar bristle brush for Christmas and brush it really really good before I wash it, and then again bottom to the roots afterwards when it's damp. To refresh curls between washes, I will spray it down with water--some dilute mousse in the bottle, and some use sea salt dissolved in water. But it is really humid here where I live so my hair dries slowly anyways, which I think has helped.

Thank you so much! I watched your video yesterday and I was so glad to discover that such a routine was possible. My scalp has been really itchy these days. I've been following the curly girl method for a year and I suspect all the products gel, lea-in I've been putting on my hair are responsible, as well as the fact that the hair takes ages to dry, which can induce fungus to develop. I tried your method this morning and it works, I just added jojoba oil to define some curls a little more. So thank you again a thousand times!
