Anyone who has wavy hair can understand this: your hair is sometimes curly/wavy and sometimes straight,but most of the times you have 3 patterns: curly,wavy,and straight all in one😂. And please tell me I’m not the only one whose hair is like this👀🥲🤞. My hair was very long in the beginning,so I didn’t get that much waves or curls. Then one day I went to shorten my hair(I didn’t shorten my hair for the hope that my waves would come back,I’d shorten it because it was tooo hot 🥵,and my hair was very sweaty)…….I wanted my hair to be short till my shoulders,but the lady said that she didn’t want my hair to be that short,so she’d just cut a few layers,and then straightened my hair(cause I’ve actually decided to go with straight hair for the rest of my life),and boom……that same night all my wavy/curly hair came back😂😂. Not even on single hair was straight,it is really curly/wavy till now!

Me too. My bangs, and mid section of my hair has curls (mostly at the bottom part of my hair) and then the other parts are usually straight wavy. Sometimes a forth of my hair will have ringlet type curls, but the rest of my hair will be wavy/straight. But my curly days seem random. And then when I brush my hair it usually takes a lot of the curl out. So difficult! But yes I can relate!

Yep in 60's long hair some is tight curls, one side has a straight chunk some have waves I think with time it might look better then the mess it is now, too processed and dark dye look black so going cold turkey (gray) so want to get my hair in better condition, hopefully it will work, currently I just washed out all that stuff and want to just wash and condition and mask a bit of oil, yet not sure when to add gel being tried 2 times and it looked ick, and stiff and soft and frizz, no matter I get frizz gather it takes time. And no matter if the dryer is on low instant frizz, ugh

Hi i want to help a little but, i just start giving attention to my hair for 5 months ago so pls pardon me. Give her a good shampoo and high moisture conditioner (if your sist hair soo dry), hair vitamin or any moisture hair product bcs it work well for curly! For sleep, make a loose bun so it didn't give so messy style when awake. Start from that is totally ok!

You're gorgeous and so is your hair. I have never had long hair in my life (I'm 66 yrs. old!), but after cancer treatment for the 2nd time, my 38 year old son asked me if I would let my pixie cut grow, as he had never seen me with long hair. My hair grows super slow, and I take biotin w/keratin and it is now past my shoulders. I hate it because it makes me look older, but I was so surprised to see how curly my hair is. I'm a natural blonde going platinum/gray and I needed this video to see how to enhance my waves/curls on days that I don't straighten it. I can't wait to try this! Thanks for a great video!

how do hard cast gels work?
@_Avogato
@_Avogato 3 жыл бұрын
@@jennie-yy1fe You basically just scrunch in the gel when your hair is very wet, then don't mess with the curl pattern until it is dry. So if you air dry, don't touch your hair with your hands until it's 100% dry. If you diffuse, same thing. Once your hair is completely dry you can scrunch out the hard cast with your hands and it'll leave your hair curled and soft. I use an oil to scrunch out the hair cast, so maybe try that!

First off, thank you so much for your suggestions. I am a 52 year old man that am trying to grow back to my 1980’s hair that I had before I joined the US Army. Yes, going back Hippy! I’ve struggled with getting it right now that my hair has gone gray and I’ve only had frizz even though my hair is naturally curly. I am going to start using your suggestions. Never thought about the microfiber towel even thou I use them on my car! Also, I don’t ever use a hair dryer because I thought heat was bad at any level, but I’m gonna start using one. I got my wife a Dyson hair dryer, so I’m gonna have to see if it has a defuser, if not I’m gonna buy my own dryer/defuser combo. Everything you said makes sense! I’ll try to remember to come back and report on my progress. I miss my 1987 naturally curly hair, hope your techniques will bring it back! Thank you so much for your tips and ideas!

Gel is supposed to make your hair hard. Its called a cast. When it does that, it's essentially making a curler our of product to hold it until it takes shape. When its completely dry, you can take a cotton t shirt and scrunch it like you do your conditioner or whatever, and it will soften up and look great. If you love the jelly, use it! But finding this out about gel changed my life. Definately was a crispy noodle head in high school

I just found out that I’ve been treating my hair for the wrong texture for 25 years (I thought I was a straight hair girl)! Beginning this journey is hard, especially since my texture is somewhere between 2B, 2C, 3A with loads of different patterns and this video has really helped me!

Same here! Im 27 and always had slight waves and a lot of volume (I have a lot of hair) after washing it or getting it wet, but when I sleep my hair goes flat so I always treated it as straight hair. I have layers rn and it's like straight-ish on top but really curly towards the ends. I think I'm in between 2a and 2b and im trying to find ways to keep the curls from going flat overnight.

i'm 23 and this is literally me 😂 although i *should've* had known because i was born with very wavy hair (as seen on my baby album photos), but when i was a toddler my mom kept cutting my hair so it's getting "straighter". although when i grew up as a kid i remembered having this shorter hair in the front of my face that's so wavy that it bounced back when i pull it. still, not until now i am realizing i am not a straight hair girlie but more like loose wavy girlie

My baby's dad side have such curly hair. Both his mom and his dad. He has curly hair too. His bros hair so curly, (it's short tho), he'd be like the white dude w/ a fro. His bros daughter has super tight curls too. My oldest having her dad's side texture, I thought my 2nd would take after her dad's side too. But her hair is as straight as it can be. But I know, she's a baby & it's delicate hair 🥰. But it's ?"when she sweats, that little mini tornado her, is when the ends curl up...." 🤔🤷🏻‍♀️. I really actually don't want her hair to be that curly tho bc we're in for it when I hafta start getting her ready for school. She'd prob throw a fit & just want it chopped off. I'm sorry but at least 2 is more manageable. Otherwise, might hafta do alotta pony tails.

Girl, same. I'm 41 and I only just realized I have curly hair. My mother always ripped clumps of my hair out trying to detangle it and just blow dried it straight. I always thought I just had very, very frizzy hair, this whole time I could have been embracing my natural hair texture. It's very fine and thin unfortunately so I can't do much with it, but I'm trying. Hoping that with time I can restore my curls, they're pretty damaged after a lifetime of fighting my hair with flat irons and hairdryers.

I have curly hair and one thing that I use as live-in conditioner is 1 part coconut oil+ 1 part glycerine + 4 parts water. You can easily get these in any store and spray this mixture on your wet hair after using shampoo and conditioner and comb gently using hands or flat brush. It helps to improve texture and controls frizz even on the most humid days. Just don't forget to shake the bottle thoroughly before applying.

i have 3b curls and a really great tip that i learned is to never shampoo your ends! they are already the driest part of our hair so adding shampoo to them will only dry them out more. also, focus your conditioner on the mid-lengths and ends of your hair, not your scalp! putting conditioner on your scalp can create oily roots and product buildup. it is also really great to use sulfate, silicone, and paraben free products because these substances are very harmful to hair. i hope this helps anyone that might need it!

When you run your fingers through your hair the next day, do you feel the build-up of products in the hair on your hands? I do and it annoys me, even if I use the slightest amount of products. I want my hair to feel natural, but I can't run my fingers through without breaking up the curls, so I only brush my hair once a week. Don't know how to find what works for me. Your curls are beautiful

@Keke Bella they are vegan and silicone free, also no oils (Shea Moisture) I used to use only shampoo so maybe anything else seems extra for my hair

hey girl! a possibility could be that your hair is low porosity meaning its difficult for it to soak up product. finding products specifically for low porosity hair or more lightweight products might help! i know shea moisture has a low porosity line and there are also ways for you to test how porous your hair actually is. I hope this helped you in any way (:

Shea moisture products always way down my hair and make it stringy. I think they do use oils + somebody told me wax. Try to look for products that say water soluble like MopTop.

Hi try extra virgin olive oil on wet hair after washing,a small coin size dollop on hands and rub hands together, and distribute on ends of hair and scrunch up your curls and the moisture is unreal :)

@@nataleedenlinger635 only one problem with coconut oil is ,it contains protein which damaged hair needs but if hair gets healthy and you still use it,it can actually be too much and hair goes dry and brittle really quick :)

My hair has been straight because I've always brushed it out with leave in after showering so it dried like that but would poof up every single time. I've tried everything from frizz ease/drug store to expensive no frizz products to sulfate free and deep moisturizers. Long story short I was brushing out my waves so it was poofy and when I clumped my curl patterns it was way better. I still have poof for sure, but using products meant to condense/define waves and curls that actually does the job where before I was trying to 'fix' my frizz problem as if there was something 'wrong' with my hair/what I was doing to it.

ok im finally learning so much about hair care. i grew up with a mother who defffff has curly hair but she straightens it EVERY DAY and has for basically my entire life. so i grew up hating my hair bc i thought it was just "frizzy" . up until a few weeks ago i used Herbal Essences bc it was the only one i tried that worked (my mom wanted me to use her aveda ones but i hated how it made my hair feel super heavy) but if i shampoo too often with it, my hair gets oily (prob bc of the sulfates??? is that what it is? idk) im trying out a shampoo bar rn that is for oily hair. but ANyways um i Think my hair is actually curly bc usually when im about to go to bed i notice it has these rlly cute ringlets that idk how to keep around. my problem is im scared to try too many products bc i cant rlly afford to buy a bunch and find out which ones work but like how do know if they will work ahhhhhhhhh this all prob makes no sense im just hoping to figure this all out soon bc im tired of overly greasy hair

I’d suggest trying to switch AWAY from herbal essences! It has a type of alcohol that is actually really bad for your hair, and can actually dry out your hair, esp the conditioner. I had to cut off 2-3 inches off my ends bc it was drying them out
