What was the inspiration behind No Promises to Keep? Uematsu: Since it is a ballad, I wanted to make it absolutely electrifying. I was asked to make the song so that the key phrase would play in repetition, and that’s when Harry Nilsson’s “Without You” came to mind. I took inspiration from it and decided to repeat a key phrase in the chorus. How did you feel when you first listened to “No Promises to Keep?” Uematsu: This is the first time I’ve heard this, and I’m glad she sensed exactly what we were aiming for. “No Promises to Keep” is a love song. I wanted it to exude a sweet feeling, but at the same time, evoke the complex feeling as Aerith confessed her feelings. I tried to build up the song as it climaxed, exactly as Loren described Was there anything you paid attention to when singing “No Promises to Keep”? Loren: I wanted to get to know Aerith well, and I also wanted to depict her relationship with Cloud. So, for me to channel her fragile and pure personality, I needed to change certain elements of my natural vocals to match up with her character. No Promises to Keep was inspired by, “Without you” I just listened to the version Mariah Carey sings in Tokyo and wow, you need to listen to it.

Nah. they will not diverge from the movie (AC). Just MAYBE, Zack and Aerith will be alive in the other timeline where everyone from Avalanche died (Tifa also). CloudxTifa and ZackxAerith is the canon. AC stated that. Cloud's whole story is based on going back to Tifa (which is why she is the only one who kisses on the date.). Cloud and Aerith have a much more brotherly love. She is what's left of Zack and is the person who shows to Cloud that there is still hope even when everything seems lost. Tifa is Cloud's supportive wife. He and Tifa are all that's left of the village, apart they are broken, but together they are something (a couple).@@yakumojoly

Rebirth producer Yoshinori Kitase said that after spending 30 years with the cast of the original PlayStation RPG, he would like to give them a happy ending. However, Rebirth and the third (and likely final) game in the Final Fantasy VII Remake series are being made by a large team with a lot of different viewpoints. If cloud and aerith end up happy ending in alternative timeline and have other cloud in main timeline they can keep advent children thing. By the way advent children is bittersweet ending.

When a person passes from life to death, it is very difficult to analyze something material from a spiritual perspective. Furthermore, it's obvious that the creators would leave it ambiguous to still leave room for ship wars. AC is a bitter end if you can't move on. Everyone was cured, Cloud and Tifa living as a couple, adopting a child and Aerith and Zack moved on. Honestly, Aerith and Cloud make no sense. Zack sacrificed himself for Cloud and Cloud is just going to be with the girl Zack liked? Meanwhile, Cloud lived his ENTIRE life to impress Tifa, sacrificed himself for Tifa, and in the end adopted a child with her. Cloud has literally known Aeroth for 1 year, while acting just like Zack. Cloud staying with Aerith is throwing away the entire story of Cloud's promise and shame in failing to become a SOLDIER. They won't touch AC, you can be sure. It will be the typical cliché of we have to do everything right and merge realities. Possibly Aerith and Zack in one, since Zack is gaining much more focus and saving Aerith in the other timeline (in addition to Aerith asking for him all the time). Cloud is unlikely to be in another reality. It seems that in every universe that Zack has survived, Cloud is either dead or still in a coma. It's likely that Aerith will actually end up with Zack Edit: In this same novel she makes it clear that she only met the real Cloud briefly. In other words, every Cloud that she has known, most of the time, was a strange Zack's persona. This novel doesn't make much sense.

I've been rooting for Cloud and Aerith ever since I started playing FFVII. I was hopeful that we were going to get some scenes implying their special bond in Rebirth, but the devs exceeded my expectations. Aerith loves Cloud, and she says it herself that she wants him, not Zack (even Zack is okay with it). Cloud loves her, and his actions towards her versus anyone else can tell you that. You're in denial if you think their relationship is anything but romantic. Whatever happens, their bond goes beyond death, and I can't wait to see what happens in the final installment!

IDK I'm so confused by the whole C/A relationship aspect of the game ngl. I feel like there are so many mixed signals like: "maybe, he never gave me a reason not to", but now "I like YOU (Cloud)" then Aerith writes a song about her and Cloud then has a date and then after seems to doubt it again "there's liking then there's liking", then says "arigato" like with Tidus/Yuna in FFX (where it is a love confession) like man, Square, please give us some definitive answer, you can't wait 27 years and spend 200M+ dollars to just spend so much screen-time on this yet not give a definitive "I love you" or something. Spoilers My thoughts. There are three timelines and yes Aerith is alive in one of them, so Cloud isn’t crazy. Zack’s world/timeline where is being destroyed and they accepted their fate, where Zack saves Aerith and they show her white materia on the night stand. Remake/Rebirth world/timeline, where Aerith knows her fate and so does Cloud remember he kept having visions of her death, “Seven seconds til the end, time enough for you. Perhaps. But what will you do with it. Let’s see.” Whisper we’re destroy in remake who wanted the events to stay as the original game. Original world/Timeline. At the end of Remake, they changed Aerith lines, she use to say, “I miss it. The Steel Sky, she now says, “This Sky…I don’t like it. Why doesn’t Aerith like “This Sky” because she is in the original timeline and she knows her fate. Pay attention to the death scene, Aerith dies in the original timeline but Cloud saves her in the remake/rebirth timeline. Also how can Cloud and Zack travel, remember Hojo experimented on them and injected them with Jenova cells and mako. I could write so much more but I will leave it at that.

@@angelicnobody6847 it's a bit more complicated than that though, now there's timelines involved and cloud can still see her and interact with her and stuff (whether it's real or not it's hard to tell, i believe it's a bit of both). i have no idea how part 3 will end but it's safe to assume that cloud and aerith will reunite in some way in the 3rd game, the song alludes to it, the loveless play alludes to it and there's way too much foreshadowing about them meeting again.

I haven’t played the games but since final fantasy 7 remake I always shipped ClErith I watched a little bit of some people playing and some scenes on KZbin and their scenes feels like true love and it’s not forced, I love holding hands and hugs it shows more affectionate than kissing because I am used to watch historical dramas that has soulmates being in love while they have no kissing scenes but you can tell with their actions and eyes that their love is magical and epic ❤ ❤ ❤.

Also throught the whole game she spend her time searching for zack, shes heartbroken cuz she thinks he left her which wasnt the case in og timeline he died and she never knew. I wouldnt say cloud is her true love only because zack and aerith were robbed from actually building their relationship. Everyone says he's awkward around Aerith. No. He's nervous. She's his world but he's never been shown affection. He doesn't know how to be affectionate. But he's learning, Aerith is teaching him slowly but she's not rushing him. She's letting him go at his pace. It's beautiful.

Cloud is cocky, he built up these walls around him so no one would get close. Here comes along a flower girl, she ignores his cocky attitude and slowly breaks down his walls he built up, she makes him smile, I never seen him as much as he smile with Aerith. He tells Aerith on the mission date he isn’t the romantic type and “ a walk” is his ideal date, in Aerith’s “my dream” they go on a date walking through the slums, his ideal date, she takes him to the church, they both consider “our spot” he tells her to give harder one next time hinting at their next date. He is more open with her and I hope to see more of them in game 3

With Aerith, Cloud learned to joke around. Two of my favorite scenes of them in Rebirth is when 1.) They roasts one another before playing Queen's blood and 2.) When they did an impromptu announcement on the chocobo race. Let's not even forget their banters. There's never a dull moment with Cloud and Aerith.

I mean, both Aerith x Cloud and Tifa x Cloud are canon to different degrees. Main reason Tifa’s generally considered “more canon” is 1). Aerith dies the original game, and 2). Cloud and Tifa are heavily implied to have slept together under the Highwind. Game also makes it clear Aerith loves him too, so its whatever.

How on earth did the BBC choose to send Olly Alexander and his Dizzy song to Malmö over this? Huge staging potential that would have pretty much made itself. Imagine the Lifestream effect and the flower bed image on the LED screens in the arena and Loren hitting the big high note at the end along with it. Would have been another iconic moment like with Sam Ryder. Would have gotten a huge reaction from the audience in the arena and both the juries and the televote would have loved this, along with of all the momentum from FF7 Rebirth on top of it.

Honestly I don't get the whole one true ship thing that has always got the fandom split, I think all 3 - Cloud/Aerith, Aerith/Zack and Tifa/Cloud are all natural and healthy relationships, Humans are by our nature in a constant state of moving forward, You never forget a lost love but you do heal and it's perfectly normal to love again, Aerith/Zack was great but Zack passed, Aerith/Cloud was great but Aerith passed, Tifa/Cloud is great. But yeah honestly Cloud/Aerith is my fave too :3, I spent soo much time in public libraries looking up ways to bring her back to life and I kinda hope the remake once it reaches it throws out a shamalan twist and lets you save her XD
