I think it’s wild people are up in arms about the fact the game got mixed reviews everyone is saying oh it’s early access you should be more forgiving. No you shouldn’t they are charging you to test their game and provide feedback to make the game better. The issue is not that it’s in early access the issue is that it fundamentally has some issues people believe it needs to be fixed. You can’t charge people to beta test and then complain when the have criticism. Early access means be open to bugs and changes, people aren’t saying never come back to game just saying at the moment these are the issues.

I agree that it is dumb for people to get upset that an early access game does not meet the standards of a full released game. At the same time though you charged me almost half the price of a fully released game so people expected it to have a certain level of quality. I think if the price was lower they would get more honest feedback and not buyer’s remorse.

It's not an "incredible" game at all. It has serious performance issues and I have some criticisms about some of their creative choices and the character creator menu's lack of clear male/female selection, replacing it with the nonsensical "body type" as has become the trend in many western gaming companies.

I'm playing on a 5600X with a 6800 XT graphics card, and it's a little weird to see dropped frames, high frame times, and even stuttering. But after a few hours of played time, I'm not upset about the game. It's early access for a reason. While they clearly have work to do, review bombing it because of stutters isn't going to fix the issues, reporting the bugs will.

im on a 3080 and an 5600x and i only have very minimal frame drops on an ultra wide monitor so im not sure why youre having more issues than i am. Are you playing with the quality settings all the way up? im playing on regualr favor quality and the performance stays around 60 fps with slight drops to 40 when loading a new large area but it quickly fixes itself

Honestly, some people have no idea what EARLY ACCESS on Steam actually means, this ain't no console early access. Judging by the amount of Steam Level 0's commenting there, I'd say a fair few people were running bottom tier potato PC's rocking the latest GT710 while others expecting a flawless fully finished game. *AS STEAM SAY'S* _Note: This Early Access game is not complete and may or may not change further. After having read a fair amount of the reviews, all I can say is that there are a lot of morons out there who don't know what "early access" actually means.

I can see that their idiocy rubbed off on you a bit. I can also tell that you havent played the game yet. Just because a game is early access doesnt mean you can release a borderline unplayable, RIDICULOUSLY difficult game to the public, and charge money for it. If the developers played their own game at all, they would understand that their is a literal smorgasbord of HUGE issues. They arent bugs, they are tuning issues and mechanical issues that they would have to literally remove from the game in order to fix. When you play the game you can tell that most of the prep for early access went into visuals and possibly fine tuning spec settings, because at literally just about every encounter you find something that needs to be tuned up. Seriously. Play the game or complete the video before you talk shit.

Im loving this game, its HAAARD! Everything needs to be planned out,and level ups means you need health and stamina for a change other than just going strength and trying to dps everything down, you will die, ALOT. I feel like im finally back in the 90s when games were hard as hell, its amazing. I will say that i want the dodge on B, ive rolled myself over cliffs too many times trying to sprint away, that is my only complaint sofar.

the performance issues ive found where crippling but i deduced the resolution and raised sharpness and its alot smoother, also theres a "bug" where your gear is repaired when you close the game and relaunch

All those chests you looted alibg the way, are procedurally generated loot wise. Often you'll gain equipment that serves no better use, than selling it. Kinda a pain, but while you take on the daily/weekly quests from the guard captain near your warp point in the city, just remember the loot of the world respawned. Those quests give money as well....

The game is a challenge and a really unique looking game overall , for an early access it doesn't fall majorly short and if people managed their expectations with EARLY ACCESS in mind then the reviews would be a bit more positive and logical, there are a few minor issues that I found where I ran to the side of one of the early areas near a ladder and fell through the map (this could be replicated over and over again) but other than that this game is fantastic and the Devs are doing a phenominal job taking in the feedback and polishing the experience with real player advice.

So true. Blizzard used to be my favorite developer. I loved Blizzard games. I loved their style, and I liked their work ethic behind making their games. The, "It's done when it's done.", approach. They had a reputation for putting out very high quality games. Over the last few years, I'd say, probably around the time they joined with Activision, they just went downhill fast. They just seem so money grubbing, and clueless now. I'd even go so far as to say that I get the sense that their current team are mostly amateurs. Diablo 4 is absolutely terrible, in my opinion. The story was bad, and felt disjointed and even unfinished. I didn't care about ANY of the characters at all. And the gameplay, itself, is boring. The talents are so shallow that I couldn't even believe what I was looking at. There were no real modifiers for any of the abilities. Just percentage based increases and decreases to things. In D3 you could change your abilities elemental damage type, giving it a new look and feel to use. And then there's the gear. There is none. No sets. Nothing but boring junk. But this isn't a video about Blizzard, so I'll end my rant at that. lol

Getting outside of the map can be pretty funny. Once out of it, you'll walk for a moment and then you'll hit that wall of death. Sometimes it doesn't seem like it's the outside of the map. Rather it seems like a hidden area, but oh my, it is not.😂 There's not enough consumables, but I think that's probably a skill issue.😂

They’ll fix performance. It will be easy. They just need to allow for customization regarding particle physics and real time lighting. I think they wanted to release it in the image they wanted to present, and then will start optimizing for lower end systems. Sort of like “Go big, then start stripping away as little as possible until it’s optimized, for lower end systems. They have GORGEOUS real time systems in this game. But they are taxing as heck. Real time lighting, weather, real time environment and particle physics. That’s what is causing all these problems. They’ll optimize those systems and likely allow for players to tweak those graphics to fit their hardware

Well I'm playing in a 4070ti super, 14600k, 64GB DDR5 in 4k with high settings and have 60-90fps steady all the time. Maybe it's patched since I started 4 hours ago, but so far I'm having a freakin blast. Love it's souls-like and hope it gets tough as hell :D

It was tough on keyboard but after I changed to controller. I love it, I have a Walmart PC and it runs fine for me. I just didn’t like the animation for picking up coins and chopping/mining for like 4-5 hits just for 1 item.

Not sure how people got this mixed up with ARPG like Diablo after seeing the very early gameplay videos that got released. For me it was more of a question "how much itemization, RNG from ARPGs that give long term motivation" are in this Souls Like Top Down game. I get it's called ARPG but also not sure how you want to describe it in any way.

It's definitely Early Access and not "release" yet. Almost no graphic options as well. Tells you they wanted to get it out and start getting Data ( and money) in. Not sure if it's an issue with the mindset of other "early access" games that are like already "version 3.5" but still labeled as "EA" after years xD

This games great, so far im 4 hrs into it and really enjoying it despite it being early access. Playing it on deck and it hovers around 25-30 fps. Lots of places to explore and keep you busy. Combat is also really fun. The content and side missions are really enjoyable too despite it being early access.

I just put the game on performance and caped the fps and it runs without issues, yes there are some drop frames when you enter a new zone but I mean is day one of early access what are you expecting?

I have a RTX 3060 laptop, 16 gb ram and no matter what settings I put it on it dips frequently to the 20's and even lower constantly. Even setting the frame cap to 30 doesn't do anything. I even changed resolution, out it to performance mode, and messed with dynamic scaling. Nothing works.

That is theorically what early access is for, some companies overuse it for other reasons other than that, doesn't seems the case with this game, so they prolly just need more feedback they couldn't get differently, this is risky as you expose an unfinished game to an uninformed and dogmatic audience. That said it's still better than the alternative, which would be releasing an unpolished/unoptimized/unfinished game.

A game still in development and not finished/polished is not "bad development"....it's "incomplete development", which is exactly what you are told when you agree to buy an early access game. Want finished/polished games? Wait until the full release. Then, if there are still bugs/problems, THEN write a negative review. It's like walking into the kitchen of a steak restaurant and berating the chef because your ribeye that's still cooking is too rare.

Using a greatsword atm and making enemies flinch is a coin toss and by the time their poise meter is exhausted so is my stamina

I think it’s great. Excellent art style, weather effects are top notch, gameplay is a lot of fun. Performance issues are obvious, but it’s early access. Baldurs gate 3 didn’t run very well on the highest end pc available at the time of its early access. Cut these guys some slack, it’ll get sorted

Elden Ring has no real pause feature. And at its core it's a souls like game, I really don't want it to be too easy. Quality of life features, sure. There's definitely quite a bit of tweaks that can make this an incredible game. I love it so far though

I was able to play almost 4h on i5 2500k stock and gforce 1030 with 8gb old and slow ram (lowest resolution and performance quality) - as I only play indie games only :D cannot believe that there are much more people that have worse performance experience than I did :D

I have a RTX 3060 on a laptop which is comparable to a desktop 2060 and dealing with the same issue. There is no way it is my laptop being weak.

The 2060 was released in 2 versions, 6gb and 12gb vram, 6gb is too less vram for sure. If you have 12gb vram then i guess you could be in a cpu bottleneck as this game i feel is depending on a quite powerful CPU. Which CPU do you have? I havent encountered any frame drops or stutterings so far, it runs very smooth. [5800x + rx6800]

i fall in love with the game❤ i don't understand the hate at all! i am playing it on my 4060ti at 1080p on quality mode as default at 60 to 80fps. performance wise it pretty good. obviously its an early access they fix this at launch....why people are so anxious about everthing!

I'm enjoying the game even with the performance issues. I just hope they don't take their sweet time like Capcom and DD2 getting it fixed. Not being able to pause the game is just a Dark Souls mechanic 😆

Being ori one of the games in my top 10 i trust moon studios. For now the game looks like a future masterpiece. Level design (which is something ppl never speaks about) is crazy good, art style is gorgerous, and the feel of true exploration is amplified by the uncommon nature of the game, however ngl i expected a more polished game from moon studios even for an early access. Combat feels goodnand interesting but enemies needs to be atunned more when you hit them. The major complain is about performances, which are so bad the game is barely playable for me, and definitely not enjoyable overall due to fps drops and stuttering. Even the audio cracks sometimes, which is driving me crazy

A lot of the negative comments seem to stem from people not doing research before buying the game. Also as someone that just got a pc about 3 years ago and spent years growing up with consoles, the graphics are fine and to me they were even fine on DD2. And just so ya know Soulslike is the same as Elden Ring because Souls was made by FromSoftware who also did ER. ER though was in fact the easiest out of the newer games for the franchise.

I get the confusion about ARPG definition and it's very often correlated to you know, isometric looter rpg, but souls likes are defined as action rpg so I don't feel like it's a mis-labeling but that there's a lack of defining features about that tag for subgenre and the language needs an update.

There should be an option for difficulty since noobs like me can't even kill the first boss. Never liked souls games but since this was advertised as an arpg I thought I might like it, but guess I was wrong 😅

Yeah… the game was pretty much unplayable for me running natively on my pc due to performance issues… luckily I have GeForce Now because I play on my gf’s Mac when I’m at her place and it runs amazingly on GeForce Now

4K Max settings. I only get stuttering when I break 5 or 6 barrels at the same time. My PC doesn't even warm up while playing the game. With KZbin, how could you think this game would play like Diablo? Do people buy games without watching videos first? Also when it's tagged "souls like" does that mean nothing to people?

To say that the game is unplayable is a lot of exaggeration. My great complaint is related to the key mapping, but the alternative layout works great to me, and I like that the character jumps automatically.

Pretty much my only complaint was the platforming aspects. You fall to your death way too easily. Apart from that, I honestly despair at the reviews from some people.

I think NRFTW is an awesome Idea. I hope it gets hashed to perfection during early access. I will pay the asking price if it is fair when the game is complete. None of this Diablo 4 release in progress and charge 70 bucks bullshit. Those devs fucked around and found out. There won't be a Diablo 5 but for at least a decade if ever.

I am playing on ROG ally on quite low settings with 35-45fps, not sure how well steam deck can run it. Seen a video that on lowest settings its roughly 30fps in steam deck. For me 30fps is unplayable.
