Couldn't naughty dog like, afford to animate a proper rig for the male characters instead of just changing the skin from Abby's model? It gives me a lot of uncanny valley looking at him running, lol

Your answer is no. Unfortunately, animation movesets are really hard to make. It requires them to design a new play style different from Abby and Ellie (and even Joel’s part 1 version) that works fluidly. Then, get a mocap actor(s) to run through a course and record fight animations and gun animations (and whatever else) that work with the Part 2 Joel model and all of it’s quirks and stuff. Not to mention the height difference will disable Joel from being able to use a few mechanics (can be seen on PS4 mod for Joel where him being taller can stop him from using melee, go through tight spaces and puts him in weird spaces in cutscenes.) All that for one character. And this mode was literally just a cash grab. Wouldn’t have been worth it in their eyes… Not even to give them their own backpacks.

I love watching and making No Return videos!!!! I recently completed my first run on grounded as a blind player. It was stressful as hell, but it was a really fun challenge! Finishing the daily run on grounded is the last trophy for No Return I need, and it's super hard! The infected on grounded is always my downfall! Right now I'm doing custom runs ungrounded, and I think I need to work my way up to standard runs because that's basically what the daily run is. The other issue I have is I'm terrible at the Bloaters! Even on very light I struggled for quite a while, so I definitely get nervous with the daily runs because you never know what the boss is. I know I'm going to fail if it's the arcade or the garage. I do OK with the Rat King sometimes, and it's actually my favorite boss. The one I've been able to beat on grounded is the Seraphite elite, and even that had my heart racing! Watching these always gives me the motivation to try again! I'm always afraid to use the pipe bombs because sometimes I use them when it's too close and I end up blowing myself up. Same with the explosive arrows. I really wish Joel could dodge. I love playing as Joel, but I'm afraid to try a run on grounded with him because of the fact that he can't dodge.

@@BrandonGavin_EDCthe character rig for last of us 1 will not match last of us 2 character rigs. The animations and mechanics of last of us 1 are different to last of us 2 because of the new mechanics in part 2. You would basically need to create a whole new character at that point.

I mean, insomniac and Sony Santa Monica don't use matching animations cus they never need more than the two playable characters in their games in a remastered game made by a very small amount of people (20 according to the credits) who don't have access to actors and motion capture rigs. Honestly they did the best with what they could and without draining resources from what ND should be focusing on, their next single player game.

Grounded pretty much forces you to play defensively most of the time. With the right kit you sometimes can get away with it but you're punished most of the time for even trying.

I play both modes actually fidelity and performance.I have a high Hz monitor so i can play 30fps and not really burn my eyes.Most of the time feels like im playing 40-50 fps.But sometimes i switch and just play the 60fps mode.Just to switch things up a bit
