No Rice 🍚 Bisi Bele Bath with homemade Bisi Bele bath masala powder / South Cookery recipes

Bisibele Bath Recipe
For powder
Coriander seeds - 1/4 cup
Chana dal - 2 tbsp
Urad dal - 1 tbsp
Pepper - 1/2 tsp
Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
Fenugreek seeds - 1/4 tsp
Mace - a small piece
Cloves - 4 nos
Cinnamon - 1 inch stick
Marathi moggu - 2 nos
Cardamom - 1 nos
Poppy seeds - 2 tsp
Sesame seeds - 1 tsp
Roast it in low medium heat till it turns aromatic and changes dark in color
Guntur chilies - 6 nos
Byadagi chilies - 4 nos
Curry leaves - 1 sprig
Roast them well
Grated coconut - 1 tbsp
Roast in low heat till it turns golden
Let it cool down
Add Hing - 1/2 tsp before grinding
Grind it into fine powder
Store it in air tight container for future use too
In a pressure cooker
Broken wheat - 1/2 cup
Toor dal - 1/4 cup
Moong dal - 2 tbsp
Rinse till the water runs clear
Add 4 cups of water and soak it for 30 minutes
Add veggies of your choice
Tomatoes - 2 medium sized
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Hing - 1/4 tsp
Salt to taste
Oil - 1 tbsp
Pressure cook to 4 whistles on medium heat
In a pan
Oil or ghee - 3 tbsp
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
Dried red chilies - 3 nos
Cashews - 10 nos
Curry leaves
Shallots or onions - 1-2 cup
Sauté till translucent
Tomato - 1 small sized
Bisi bele bath masala- 3 to 4 tbsp
(Bisibele bath masala in my next reel, as I couldn’t show all in one, due to the length of the reel)
Sauté till the tomatoes turn mushy
Tamarind extract (lemon sized tamarind soaked in 1 & 1/2 cup water and extracted)
Jaggery - 1 tsp
Bring it to boil and keep stirring
Let it cook for a minute in simmer
Add the cooked mixture of wheat, dal and veggies
Mix well
In simmer for 2 mins
Ghee - 1 tbsp
Coriander leaves finely chopped
Enjoy it with Kara bondi, finely chopped or Appalam 🤗
