At 1:22 The starting part of the Spirit Helm Breaker has hyper armor now. So no knockback but you still take damage. At 1:28, I think he still had hyper armor left over from the end of the Crimson Finisher move. Peppo's Let's talk about Longsword videos are great at covering the LS nuances in the Wilds Beta! :) That being said, I can't wait for The Art Of Long Sword's LS tutorial for Wilds.

Watching this as a dual blades main just makes me ridiculously jealous of all the hyper armor long sword has now. It feels like you can't get punished for anything.

Yeah, after years of people complaining that Longsword is brain-dead and overpowered with none of the risk and all of the reward, Capcom seems to be really leaning in this time with the excessive hyper armor. At least some of us think it's stupid and unnecessary.

You will get punished for not using your stuff properly, just like with any other weapon. You just picked Longsword to ingore that fact because, you know, it's fun to attack LS for some reason.

@athos9293 I love longsword, mained it all through world. I chose longsword because it has hyper armor on every part of helm breaker and the follow up, as well as another invulnerable counter on top of foresight. Longsword is super juicy this time around compared to what I'm maining now which is dual blades. Use your head.

@@muse0583 Use your head. Unlike the follow-up, helmbreaker itself only has hyper armor for the initial stab. If you don't time it right, you get smacked mid-air. And hyper armor still has you take damage, unlike perfect guards and evasions from other weapon classes. And it's also not like offsets (which also take chip damage), in the sense that they allow for two high-damage options that don't murder your gauges, while LS' hyper armors are two high-damage options that DO murder your gauges.

Man, they've gotta get rid of the hyper armor on Spirit Thrust and Spirit Release lol. Like what's even the point of trying to find openings anymore? Just send that shit and let it rip while tanking the damage, then pop a Max Potion right after. God forbid this game also has health augments to top it off.

The game is absolutely not enjoyable on PS5 IMHO. Has anybody tried playing the game on PS5 without the 120hz support? It was super blurry on my LG OLED C4. So bad that I couldn't enjoy it for even 10 minutes
