And your cat is definitely an active member of your crew unlike Buddy who hardly opens his eyes, amazing collection and you made a perfect place for it. And big admiration of the fact that that table was not stained ha ha
@LTMS2 жыл бұрын
The table gets stained every time, but I use water-based dyes and a wet rag is enough to clean the melamine. With Bombo the problem is NOT to have him in the frame, you can't imagine how many shots I have to discard, he is always very interested in my projects. 🙂 Thanks for passing by, I hope everything goes well.

@@LTMS ha ha - now I know I am not the only one that is messy. I have my little pup completely uninteresting in my work so I am not sure what is better - Bombo is even trying to clean your stuff in the water fun times!!

Unlike other racks, this one requires no modification if you change your handsaws set. Thanks for your thoughts.

Brilliant idea. Going to make one ASAP. Any chance of posting the dimensions?
@LTMS2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your thoughts, I appreciate very much. Size is not that important, I adapted to the scrap wood I had and used a curtain rod for the cylinders. Anyway the dimensions are 5 x 12 x 2.5 cm and 4 cm thick for the main support, the cylinders have a diameter of 3.5 cm and are 3.9 cm long (I have left 1 mm of play), the plexiglass is 6 x 10 cm

Brilliant idea. What is the angle of the wedges 30 degrees?
@LTMS11 ай бұрын
it's about 25 degrees, but it doesn't really matter, I think any angle between 15 and 40 does the job equally. Thank you for your time and for your thoughts.

What is the size of the stripe of wood that you used for the project?
@LTMSАй бұрын
The size is not too important, I used a scrap that I had available. It also depends on the size of your saws, however I cut pieces of 50mm base, 120mm height, 22mm width at the top and 40mm depth. I hope it is useful to you, but adapt it to your needs, which are certainly different from mine.

My dowels won't grab the saws for some reason. They fall out.
@LTMS Жыл бұрын
It seems really strange to me, the only place where this system doesn't work is in space because there is no gravity. The seat of the dowel must have a vertical side and one with a slight inclination (about 15/20 degrees), it's the only thing I can think of that can prevent it from working properly.
@cal45lover Жыл бұрын
Might be your dowels are too hard, a softer wood would likely get a better 'grip' on the smooth sawblade than a hard wood.
@davidcchambers Жыл бұрын
I have seen other implementations of this design where the dowel is wrapped in a layer of black electrical tape to provide added friction.
@ErickvdK Жыл бұрын
Try putting some bicycle innertube on them for grip😊

I made similar Japanese saw storage rack using small toy rubber bouncy balls instead of dowels, try that, works really well

What are the angles please? Many thanks.
@LTMS3 ай бұрын
I made them at an angle of about 15 degrees, but it doesn't really matter, between 10° and 45° is fine.
