I have a Westinghouse main panel at my residence which was built in 1987. Eaton acquired the division of Westinghouse which manufactured panels and breakers in 1994. Eaton integrated the former Westinghouse division with their Cutler-Hammer® business unit. I have had good success using the proper Eaton breakers to replace or add breakers to the Westinghouse panel.

Same here; I have a 'Bryant' brand box, and Eaton makes new replacement breakers for that brand, too.

They also make tandem breakers that have a 20 amp on one side, with a 15 amp next to it, so you have the option of adding a 20 amp new line next a 15 amp 'old' line when you replace a standard 15 amp single regular sized breaker.

Slimline breakers are only allowed if the concerning panel that you're adding to allows for Slimline otherwise no

Unfortunately the new rules say so panels are not allowed to be added to a basement panel which is considered now the subpanel any sub panel has to be sent right out to the main disconnect outside

Can I use a slim line breaker for a tankless water heater.

only if they make a slimline with enough amps to support your water heater

You need to inform your viewers that certain panels require specific breakers due to the design, otherwise they'll find their panels compromised.....as is the case with Square D, Sylvania, etc.

Don't forget to tell people not all breakers match based on the backside the front side and the brand name you cannot combine different types of breakers and different brands of breakers in the same panel
