the thing is, aside from the understood positives, nearly all (countries) are corrupt in some way..true for nearly every sovereign nation on the planet, i'm sorry to report. so, good on you, finding AJE documentaries - but you have *a lot* more to see..interviews, too! and also, meaning seeing them on many other news outlets based in other nations as well. and i glean you have yet to hear the odd/weird factoids: every country, nation-state, etc., that has at least a fairly decent infrastructure (even if only for the 'middle class' and wealthy) and money (so called 'first-world' and also some of the emerging nations): they are all like that.. meaning there are happy conditions but, which are imbalanced with major corruption..and the governments that throw money into their media, they almost never report on their own corrruption...unless they're 'tossing one of their own under the bus.' but a handful of them make a lot of very good documentaries..about their *own* positives, as well as *all kinds* of exposé docos on other governments - about the bad behaviors and goings-on of *other* countries..although all of these tend to leave their official allies and 'super-friendlies' be...so... RT [English], TRT [English] CNN [USA], CNN WORLD (far better than CNN USA, overall, anyway), AJE/AlJazeera [English], FRANCE24 [English], DW [English], CCTV [English], CGTN [English], i24News [English]...these are all free online and many have live streams and/or clips on their official KZbin channels. can't vouch for these networks in other languages besides my own.. and, likely, i haven't found all of the 'best' ones either, so to say... additionally, there *are* other networks..but some have quite low budgets and primarily report only on local/national news re: their own country and/or geographical areas. long way around to saying (for instance): if you want to hear 'the goods' on the USA, watch docos and the news on RT, CCTV or CGTN or AJE.... traditionally, if you want the 'the goods' on Russia, watch docos and the news on CNN, CNNi or DW or France24...and so on...and you'll just have to learn how to navigate 'the systems' because, of course, you'll have to weed through the propaganda, as well. 💁 hope this helps you and/or others to understand at least some of what's really going on in this world...because we still have a long way to go before mankind evolves from being "human becomings" [quote, John Bradshaw] into true, bonafide, actualized *human-beings.* 🙆

Both, but don't forget that for all it's glitter, China is still a dictatorship run by the Chinese Communist Party for it's own benefit and dissent is a good way to get tossed in jail or have your organs harvested.

China is richer than Thailand, there is no point to illegally emigrate to Thailand for economic reasons, especially with so much difficulties.
@wenyizhang4521
@wenyizhang4521 7 жыл бұрын
If they want to illegally emigrate to the west, they can simply apply for a tourst visa, and overstay afterwards. The problem, is the fact that the Chinese government does not grant pro-democracy activists a valid Chinese passport, and often denies them from leaving the country. That is why these people ended up in Thailand first, because there is a land border, which is relatively easy to cross.

Just several several questions: 1) The photo used for " deportation on an airplane" were actually criminals arrested for phone scam and deported in China because most victims were Chinese. Then how can we be sure that these people aren't criminals and that they only flee the country to avoid prison? 2) How can we be sure that they actually practice this religion instead of using it like a proper cause for asylum? 3) People say that communists are afraid of this religion. If this religion is only about " doing good and have good karma", I don't see a problem, after all, falungong is a religion and communist is a political party. Religion and politic should be separated, so why is communist feeling menaced by a religion? Because this so called religion has interfered with politics. Umm... A religion which seeks politic power...ringing a bell?

@abdulhakeem1433
@abdulhakeem1433 8 жыл бұрын
+Szewah Leong To answer your questions: 1) From 7:08 to 7:21, the scene was described by the journalists like deportation of those "refugees". 2) If you search "phone scam deportation" on the net, you will find the same picture used much earlier in the news for example: " Taiwan tries to stop M'sia from sending phone scam suspects to China" (Because most of those suspects were Taiwanese.) Those two points actually shows that the journalists who made this report have lied on the interpretation of those photos, Mmm....I'm wondering what else can they be lie about? 3) At 13:05 , when the guy started to sing, the narrator said explicitly that they were run from the ban of Falungong. So these people are using religious reason to apply for asylum, which reminds me the last question from my previous post: how does a religious reason become a political reason?

These people are not the regular Chinese refugees. You can tell that they are college educated the way they speak and what they stand for. If they were your average villagers, they wouldn't have fought for what they believe (such as Falung Gong practitioner and 1989 Tienanmen Square Massacre) These people believe in truth and freedom, which is why the Chinese government is after them.
@Fisherlam
@Fisherlam 8 жыл бұрын
Hi Min Fong, maybe you don't understand this kind of people. In China, almost everybody want to move to Europe or USA. If he is rich, that is easy. if he is not rich, he have to find other way. It is shortcut to enter those developed countries to be a political refugee. For them, this is just business. Honestly speaking, I dislike them. They betrayed their people in order to get better life.
@mmfong297
@mmfong297 8 жыл бұрын
Fisher Lam these days, it's not that difficult to get a tourist or student visa to come to the western counties. They didn't have to go through this instead. Smuggle to Thailand or getting a yacht is probably more difficult than getting a tourist visa if the gov wasn't after them. I know there are many in China would illegally go to the west but again judging from how they speak and what they believe, these are not your uneducated farmers or unskilled workers. These people might be teachers, engineers, gov employees and such. They did not betray their people, instead their government failed to provide them the freedom every human should receive. Look up falung gong and Tiananmen massacre and understand why.
@Fisherlam
@Fisherlam 8 жыл бұрын
I don't know what Falung Gong is. If it is religion, I will not accept them to govern our country. If you think it is okay, then you can ask Muslim or Christian to govern your country. I have no comments. For these people, I didn't know them. If they want to struggle for our people, they should stay here, not go aboard. As I know Thailand is the only country in South-East Asia, where they can apply asylum to USA.

such an important story, thank you.... but *why* would you tell the world, via this video, that *the asylum seekers knew you were secretly filming??* so, now, you've made it difficult and very dangerous for *other* asylum seekers to be helped in future! and maybe even done harm to the ones in this video, at some point.. because it's not like there's a promise the police and government will never see this video someday - from Thailand, China or any number of other nations not friendly to asylum seekers!...and what about the the *trust factor* doco subjects need to have with journalists?? any of them who might somehow viewing this documentary would think twice, at least, before agreeing to their own, harrowing journey being filmed..it's not as if we, the audience/viewers need to know the details of your arrangements with your human-being subjects...just smh. 👎👎
