Hey Dag! Loving the series so far! Just two key changes that I think the us the audience would like to see, and that's the use of TRACK IR headset so we can see more of the scenery, and to use the foot brake at traffic lights when stopped like you would in a normal car to hold the truck. When you apply the parking brake (default keybind: Spacebar) that's what depletes the air the quickest in your air tanks. Thanks Dag for reading my comment!
@poolas8ball3 жыл бұрын
SatNav is crucial in this game. As already mentioned, the distances are shortened, but also not all roads are available. Mostly one or two ways are to get to destination. Not many distinct markers to actual find yourself in a map (which in real world is much much easier). Plus, you still need map in front of You of some kind...
@qtbearqt3 жыл бұрын
Side note, you might be to set the adaptive automatic transmission to a different power mode for more power when you have heavier cargo. This lets the truck go higher in the rev range before shifting gears. The downside is that you burn more fuel but your employer is paying for it anyway. The option is found in Options > Controls right below the Transmission.

By the way, i think the air pressure goes down so much because you turn off and on the parking brake when you stop. it uses up alot of your air pressure. For a traffic light you might aswell just hold down the brake pedal.

At 63 I have driven all over Europe never using a satnav, mostly holidays so if I got lost no panic The first time I used one I ended up in a farmers field towing a caravan in the lake district, no room to turn around so I had to unhitch, turn the caravan, then the car. Another time I ended up in a dead end in Carlisle and had to do the same, lots of help from the amused public, needless to say it was a long time before I used it again. Up till 7 or 8 years ago I travelled from Newcastle to La Coruña, Spain quite regularly, like cruise control, Satnav is useful but not essential and must be updated regularly.

Why is driving without a satnav realistic. Everyone has a phone with GPS on it. Even if the truck doesn’t have one you can assume you are using your phone. I can’t imagine a trucker not using some navigation system. But also great series!

I just want to say that most truck drivers use some kind of a map. They would never just free roam cause gas prices. I am all for making things as hard as you want them to be but that not going to happen with everyday trucking unless you have a set route you drive 5 days a week.

@25:00 depends, I drive without satnav but thats because I live in the nation and then the area in that nation with arguably the best guided road network, the system makes it easy to follow main arteries, difficult to misdrive and if you do ample opportunities to circle round, that has to do with density as well but also overal choices in how roads and indication is placed here, I drive from the middle of a big city first time to some place i never go to by car and to get out of the city to the main ring is 10 min, then its one solid well indicated drive along marked towns and citys to then drive right into where i need to be on any of the cardinal sides... the UK not so much, a lot of ill-completed rings, a lot of local decision making, not unworkable but sometimes lacking overal planning
