I drove for swift for a year or so. I drove as owner/operator and drove an average of 4k miles a week. My pay stub showed that I owed them money every week. However according to the IRS my truck had been paid almost 200k. Come to find out that the managers are known for stealing funds from the drivers. So if you want to use a realistic mod for swift make sure you owe money after driving max hours low weight.

As someone who got their license and haven't played this game I gota say the mechanics are on point. Roads are realistic, truck customization is cool...However, the way the cars drive like their rational people (because theyre AI) is completely unrealistic. In reality people will be doing the stupidest shit you've ever seen, every, other, turn. Take it from me, I'm a local driver.

I'm a Truck dispatcher and i don't know how it is realistic for trucks, AI and etc. But the prices paying for the milages you do on the game are unrealistic. On 1000 miles you get $2000-2500 in real life, other than that it's just a dream.

There's an issue with starting and playing until one can afford their own truck. Regardless of taking out a loan as soon as possible, which I didn't want to do. "EVERY TIME" I took a job, having to set the mirror's is a real pain in the area in which one utilizes when they sit. As one who also started with, though I utilized the GDC economy mod. I was eventually forced, when I just couldn't put up with it any longer. The constant mandate of having to adjust the dam mirror's was going to be a game breaker, loving the game, I broke down and took out a loan. Bought my first day cab, adjusted my mirror's, once. The issue now is because I play as realistic as a video game and a few mod's will allow. I've been forced to engage the DEV area, so I can sleep. Because in the real world, if and when driving a day cab, meaning, no sleeper. One cannot log sleep time. And if the DOT check's, you'd better have some upto date hotel or motel receipt's. Toughed it out, put in the miles and have finally got a sleeper. I really enjoyed the ability to drive any truck, take any load, and go anywhere. But the consitant having to adjust the dam mirror's, each and every time. Almost caused me to retire from the game. Which when I was an actual OTR with an excess of two million mile's. Loved to play after my real retirement.

I lost a real life trucking job for craziness. One of 3 was my fault but the other 2 were not. I mean if you sit up in seat and look a lady in the eyes and she points at you to go ahead and then you look over and the rig next to you signals you to go first your not expecting the lady on the right to "think" oh he must of signaled to me to go and pull right in front of you in the 2 seconds your interacting with the truck to your right.

I know what you mean by starting from nothing, but at one point you did invest in the game and the wheel, so there is that. I'm one of the newest to this game, finding it just after the 1.45 release. Played a demo, Steam had to offer and afterwards invested in the game, all of the DLC's and ordered a G920. Assuming I play it as long as I did Elite Dangerous, some 6,000 hour's. My investment cost me about 5 cent's and hour. I'm 73 year's old, and need something to do that occupies my mind. Using the economy mod you stated as well as a few other realistic mods and a few I call quality of life mods I utilize because the algorithum the NPC's utilize are not realistic. Play this as if I were young again and still an owner operator aka O'O. The only issue I have envolves the rest periods. Where as I use to just stop somewhere safe and get in my bumk. Now I mandated to rest where ever the game allows. Which cause's issue's if and when I don't plan exactly correct. Missed a rest stop enroute the other day. The next was so far away I couldn't make it without dozing off, which eventually causes you to wreck. FYI: If it happen's again, shut off the config in the menu, until you deliever. Than turn it back on.

I agree. It’s so unrealistic to have to be restrained to specific rest stops only. Its just stupid. Sometimes I just sleep on a shoulder somewhere on some exit, or any decent spot where I can park Im sleeping there. I slept at some shady places man. They need to fix that and also need to fix the stupid red light violation, rest break/sleep violation(as I mentioned) , speeding violation. If you cross over the white line at a red light, you get fined and thats fuckinf stupid so then I really just run the red light for real! Also police/ state patrol need to be more interactive and actually come after you so you have to stop and maybe have a fun little mini game with the cop with the right answer giving you just a warning and the wrong giving you a ticket or 10 hour suspension like irl. If thats too much then at least they need to come after you and make you stop to collect ticket. Then you got the weight stations which could be so much better.
