A great solution for the cooler moving around. I've never seen a fish take the lead too, but on the plus side leaving the weight in will enhance the weigh-in during a tournament.

unless you have me as weigh master! I was weigh master for several King Mackerel tournaments in the past. I put a team of "checkers" in the line, and it was unbelievable what they found in fishes throats and mouths, by cheaters! Older trick than that is a tube and funnel, pouring water down the fishes throat. But we found that too, via a belly cut. C'C'mon! YES Icey-teks are great, and this really worked out for me, more rear-ward seating for charter customers.

Great informative video. I got the same sunday project coming up soon. I wanted to ask you. Where did you get that rubber mat? I want something similar to do the whole floor on a section of my boat where im going to put my cooler. It looks thick heavy somewhat commercial grade..

It's only 3 by 5 and yes it's very very thick and very very heavy I got that at Northern Tool if you plan on doing multiples of these plan on wearing your boat down and getting really bad gas mileage

Good video Dog . Interesting that I seen this today because I have been contemplating using one of those springs , a larger diameter for a kicker steering connector for my 9.9 to my 115 Yamaha’s . Not sure if it will work however my way of thinking it may just be the ticket . Is that called a breakaway spring and what do you think about my idea ?

The name is Dave. I have a kicker I have a steering arm also I was trying to use into the proper stuff where it really counts I have my entire boat playlist in the video description and you can look up and see all how I put the steering arm on and all that

Capt Dave's Sport Fishing , Mentone no disrespect Dave “ who let the dog out “ my funny not yours evidently. Yes I am familiar with the many conventional steering arms . Just thinking a heavy duty hatch support spring could give more flexibility to the upward movement .

@@schism420420 mine's got a ball joint built into it and even mine super heavy duty the lighter-weight one's even have a ball joint situation built into them I had to do a lot of research and stuff to get mine to work in it is made to do that it wasn't super easy but whatever alright yeah that's just my Battle Cry has been for multitude of years

Haven’t seen the stainless epoxy bolts, but the steel ones are called Elevator bolts for those looking. Where did you find the small spring for the little cooler? I like that idea. Fish On👍

The first one in my Hundred 20 quart cooler I bought on the clearance rack at West Marine you can get them anywhere Amazon eBay the one in my bigger cooler is about 11 and 1/2 inches long in my smaller cooler it's about 9 and 1/2 in and smaller diameter those Lowe's stainless bolts came with a system called epoxy weld or something something like that

Melloreel , same here after about an hour of using different key words it dawned on me that a vintage Pro Deck Bass boat that I blue printed the hull on had those . Then it was Daaaaa , new key words.
