Hey Jason, I do like a thicker steak and it had amazing flavor. Yeah, I'm sure my Dad was smiling down on me and smelling that steak grilling. I'll give some thought to your suggestions. I've actually thought about doing a breakfast video and have been tossing a few ideas around. Thanks for the suggestions and thanks for watching!

Hey spacecowboy!!!! Maddog in the HOUSE!!!! The ribeye looks real tasty. My mouth is watering as much as the steak is juicy. Dude, to me, that meat is medium rare not medium. But I do like. Gotta try that style. Great tip.

Hi Stan, I cooked the steak to 145F internal temp, then pulled it off and let it rest. Thanks for watching!

Sorry Spikey, we do have some great meat of all sorts in Texas. Quite a few of my older videos from last summer show me smoking ribs, chicken, brisket, etc. Wish you had a supply for some great meat.

The wife and I love egg rolls, so that won't be a problem, 'specially Southwestern style. I'll see what I can do about making up some slaw for ya. Thanks again for the suggestions!

Yeah Moonshine, I had forgotten how great the steaks turn out without searing them. Since this one was Prime beef, I did get a flare up, but didn't really mess up the steak since I had it on my bread rack. Flame kissed steak! I caught it quickly before it charred the outside. Yeah buddy! Thanks DAD!!!!

Great looking steak! It’s awesome you paid attention to what your Dad was teaching you. I sometimes didn’t pay attention like I should have.

Thanks Keith. I usually do have tators of some kind, but was in a hurry that day. That side of the steak just got flame kissed for a minute while I was inside fixing a drink. It was too far off the heat to get burnt. LOL

Jeremiah Johnson This method is ideal for thicker steaks, over 1 1/2 inches thick, and I use this method all the time. You don't get the grill marks and crust on the steak, but the steak is super tender and moist. This method doesn't work as well on thinner cuts of steak. Let me know what you think if you try it!

I've watched a ton of your older videos and they're great. But this is the first one I've seen where I thought you looked very different. Then I realized you've got the biker gang beard going on here 😀 I like the creativity! Great looking steak too, BTW.

My dad died about 14 yrs ago. N he also was a master at cookin steak. N it was usually filet mignon as well. Gotta say I'm glad n not so glad I stumbled upon this video tonight. But either way great to see a son honoring his dad. I'm sure ur dad would be so proud of you !!

Hey Troy, still working my way through your older vids. My dads favorite meat to grill was country style pork ribs. Probably because they were cheap, but he would put them in a foil pan and cover with bbq sauce and boil them until they were done. He's past away, but i always cook that on his birthday.
@TROYCOOKS6 жыл бұрын
I appreciate you checking out my older vids! My Dad would also cook country style pork ribs because they were cheap, but very tasty. And my Dad cooked them just like your Dad. Good memories!!!

Man Troy, that wasn't a steak, it was a roast my friend, lol. It sure looked tasty though. Looked like it was coked perfectly to me too. Bet your Dad was smiling watching down while you cooked it. As far as new videos, I think it would be cool to see a "tour" of your town. Favorite places to eat, your butcher shop, cool things to see. Kinda like JB has done before. Also maybe a breakfast vid. Thanks for all the vids Troy!

This is pretty much how my dad does steak as well. He seasons them up real good and then just throws them up on the warming rack and lets em go without searing. Nice and tender.

ummm, the fluids from steak is uric acid, hate to burst your bubble down there. uric acid is fluid that was in the animal's muscle tissue when it was killed and didn't get processed as piss. urine in healthy humans and animals is sterile. i'm not trying to piss on your parade, i just grill my steaks until well done, rotating several times to get all the piss out. God bless you and your daddy's soul. you seem like fine people.
