A friend gave me a load of Christmas fabric and I thought I would use it to make these stars as I love them. This is the best and most easy to follow tutorial I have found. Thank you.

think of all the stars you can make if you start now! I'm glad you found my video 🎄

These are adorable! I'm all done with my Christmas projects this year but I'm definitely save this for next year. Cheers from a Scandinavian person!

My church craft group makes these into garlands and add wooden beads in between. They are very popular at craft fairs and we usually sell out of them.

Thank you for the tutorial. I’m hooping to make them for my stitching group. Have plenty of 2.5 inch strips.

Thank you for this tutorial on fabric stars! I love that you used Elmers!!! Did you sew in the loop for hanging?
@ArtistTaraReed2 ай бұрын
You're very welcome! I made the hanger loop from embroidery floss, put it on a needle then through the fabric and tied it in a knot!

Which direction did you iron the seam? I have watched this video several times and don't see that part? I ironed the seam down the middle to avoid having all the bulk on one side. Thanks.
@ArtistTaraReed2 ай бұрын
I'm not sure if you sewed 2.5" strips or folded fabric. If you sewed & turned strips, I just pressed my seams so they went down one side of the strips (they would show on the star if you pressed them down the center of the strip. If you folded and pressed fabric, you can see how that was done here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/sKmudKOkm7JkrqM
@sophuzzy2 ай бұрын
@@ArtistTaraReed I was using 2.5 inch strips in that case, and the seams do show. Thanks.

I think you mean a hemostat… not sure what a “needle gripper” is. 😂
@ArtistTaraReed2 ай бұрын
Oh I make up terms when I'm not sure - I should write a dictionary of "Tara-isms for sewing and quilting" 😂 I use reverse tweezers a lot... hemostat sounds like a medical tool (but is probably correct)
