I worked in a leather shop in Palm Springs. Instead of glue we used 2-sided tape. For stiff hems we folded and then creased the leather with a hammer or mallet. As far as punching the holes, a handheld leather punch or you can use the punch that came with your river set. Hope this helps. Loving your channel.

Love your videos! I can tell you put a lot of care into making them. If you are still wondering about another solution for making eyelet holes, you can find a leather hole punch starting at around $15. I only got mine to add holes to my belt but you’ve inspired me to find an upcylcling project to use it on.

Thank you so much for the tip! $15 would have been SOOO worth it on this project haha. I can't wait to see what you make with yours!

This was brilliant! Was that brocade from Korean hanbok? It's beautiful. So, I have a leather jacket from when I was younger and it was a size 40 and I am more a 42/44 these days, do you think this method allows more room to fit or have any suggestions? Thanks, Andrew!
@REISSUED3 жыл бұрын
Hey Don! Thanks so much! Not sure about the brocade... I bought it with my mom at Joann for a project circa 2005 haha. I definitely think that the lacing method would allow you to adjust the fit of your jacket! Maybe focus on opening up the seam that are feeling tight right now

@@REISSUED Perfect! I shall gut my jacket and see how it turns out. I don't see a lot of upcycle tutorials for menswear unless it's a "how-to upcycle your boyfriend's shirt into a dress" lol... you're an inspiration and I hope your channel blows up!

@@donniboi87 haha exactly! But there are a few of us trying to blaze that trail :) Can't wait to see how your jacket turns out!
