Seeing you do a lot of spraying your dyes, could you offer tips on the process such as thinning cleanup in one of your next videos? I got the sprayer as you have not yet taken the time to experiment with it. Thanks, I just completed the small today. Magnetic snaps did not seem to hold well for me so I drilled it out and put it in a Loxx.

Thanks so much for videos and designs. I think I’ve bought all your purse designs. My question regarding chrome tanned leather - is their a way to know or a question to ask the seller if the leather has any carcinogens? Only because I heard it would damage your laser.

Chlorine is the one to avoid damage to your laser. PVC based products. Many faux leather have pvc…. You need to be careful. In faux leathers, if it is 100% polyurethane or PU it is safe. With chrome tan, you are worried about you, not the laser. Decades ago, most chrome tan when lasered would produce hexavalent chromium, which is a bad carcinogen. Modern tanneries (perhaps except china and India and other less developed countries) use a different process that can produce trivalent chromium which appears safe. I would stick to the rule if it is European or American tanned it should be ok. I still vent it well and try not to engrave large patterns. That’s my own standards….

What setting do you use on the Cricut? How many passes does it take to cut the leather?

For that front panel in the video, I chose 5-6 oz tooling leather in design space and it took 16 passes for maybe an hour and a half. I could have chosen 4 oz leather and it would have cut in fewer I think, just deeper on the first few passes but with a sharp blade it would have been fine. Cricut is way too conservative…

Quick question, but firstly, love your designs! I've made many of the no-sew phone clutches and several of the beer koozies for friends. If I add the cowhide lining to the tote, do I use a thicker pattern? Hope that makes sense.

Yes you would add it together. That's why I suggest thinner leather and thinner suede...
