I listen to your reading at night to help me sleep. You are an amazing narrator. And I agree with the others about the subtle sounds that bring the readings to life and help me imagine the story in my mind. Please keep performing more like this. They have gotten me through some difficult times. Thanks and I too look forward to when I can support financially.

Not one mistake in any of your narrations... not one. To say nothing of your voice talent. Thank you for your QUALITY and professionalism that few narrators on YT bother to put the effort in to achieve. And thank you as well, for the chapter separations. Very convenient. You are amazing. Production and sound effects / music are excellent and you did a great job on the voices ! I think I might go mad and begin an endless macabre game of killing and being killed by that horrible man. Apparently the animals they hunt and gather eggs from are 'part' of the island, as they can die, etc. Maybe they just respawn immediately after being slain lol

This island is, in whole, or perhaps only as a fragment of, "The Isle Of The Ever Young" mentioned in Celtic mythology: an alternative Tir Nan Og ruled over by Mananan MacLir. Though that traditional island had its creepy side, it was not an essentially negative place. Here, this insular fragment has been sullied by the modern world and washed toward and into the wholly negatively hellish.
@EnCryptedHorror3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Tipi, I had wondered if there were mythological underpinnings for the story. What you say makes sense.

This gets in my fav top 5 stories! Looved it! But i find it dumb that the girl did not gave up that meh capitan Thunder! I would! If i was her! What he could do in the end? kill them all 100 times then got tired n got used to the idea of loosing her. Sorry..i always imagine other things about stories!
@EnCryptedHorror2 жыл бұрын
I suppose it was that although they healed/came back from death, Thunder would have made the torture prolonged and excrutiating, and I think the few hundred years that passed broke her spirit. I think about this story from time to time...I mean, they're all *still there* on the island. Who knows what they're up to now...? 🤔

After I'd listened, I fancied a look at Lady Eleanor, so I googled and apparently she wrote lots of stories and novels, her other claim to fame was that she was part of a wealthy racy set, in the 20's and 30's, who spent their time loafing about, drinking and taking drugs.....They were called the Bright Young Things!! I expect today's equivalent would be called The Conservative Party. Unless you're a tory, Jasper, in which case, I take it all back.....lol 👍💙💚💛
@EnCryptedHorror3 жыл бұрын
Yes, I had read she was part of the Bright Young Things - the Mitfords, the Sitwells were there, but you also had Betjeman, Beaton etc. - brilliantly sent up by Evelyn Waugh in "Vile Bodies" if you've ever read it. I've got a cracking story by Waugh that I'd love to do, but I suspect his literary estate would take it down in a heartbeat...
