There is something called rematching you know, you have to be able to adapt. If you don't have a slipper then blip the throttle to rev match your rear wheel and engine speeds and you won't get any rear wheel hopping. You know BSB riders revmatch all the time, there's a reason for that.

@@ImEasyAs essential on the track. Not on the street
@Zedexization5 жыл бұрын
@@steadycruising3251 it is essential on the street (unless you drive a fancy new car which has automatic rev matching). It's a form of "emergency" braking (when brakes don't work or isnt efficient enough) and its helps you decrease wear on any manual transmission vehicle. Driving/riding learning courses don't teach about rev matching and only talk about engine braking (they tell you to just drop a gear without bliping) which is why people don't do it as often because it feels jerky or weird. Rev matching reduces that and in most times removes the jerky feeling.
@steadycruising32515 жыл бұрын
@@Zedexization it only feels jerky if you drop the clutch.if u smoothly release the clutch it will be smooth and engine braking will still happen. Guys rev match because its fun to do but that's about it

@need100k5 жыл бұрын
@@rn675 - Seriously? The message I got from this "demonstration" is that, without a slipper clutch you're going to have rear-wheel grabbing under hard downshifting, as if revmatching didn't exist. To a beginner who hasn't a clue, this video can be misleading. I'm now shopping for a bike (it's been 35 years), and if the one I like has a slipper clutch, I'm going to either replace the clutch with a standard one or I'll shop for a different bike. I know very well how to revmatch, and I don't do it because it's "fun". I do it because it's the right way to downshift.

@bechamelhorse5 жыл бұрын
Yep, slipper will solve some of the issue, then you could go ahead and get an auto blipping quick shifter, maybe some cruise control, heated seats... And now you're heading down a slippery slope towards a litre scooter. I would recommend just turning your quick shifter off for the next 12 months over getting more gear to make the bike less challenging to ride. Let using the clutch become second nature again and then getting the hang of rev matching during downshifts will come easy. When you get the hang of all this stuff and it becomes automatic, riding actually gets loads more fun. Nothing like a hot lap time that was all you and not fancy premium rider aids.

I could be wrong here, but whatever. This kind of "prolonged" squeaking and tire jumping happens to me when I press the rear brake too hard, which causes the wheel to lock up. Downshifting without revmatching usually causes short wheel lockups. To me it looks like a combo of a non-slipper clutch and agressive rear brake usage. Lovely riding tho. :)

Yes it "sucks" if you dont got a slipperclutch (like me and me mate) cause it's harder to get around the track as fast as someone who's got it. BUT it's an amazing feeling if you get the pace without any help! The tyre hopping and squeeling etc... too fast clutch release and/or bad rev-matching.... I was wondering to upgrade to slipperclutch when the clutch would go, but honestly??? I probably wont. It's just so much fun if YOU are the only thing handling the bike. And so funny to see quite a lot of guys on "new" 1000cc bikes struggling to keep up (or even worse). Imho Grtz

techs are fun, but have to admit, they makes us less skillful haha :D one question ive been having for so long, why do we still need auto-blipper when we have slipper clutch ?
@RSfiregod7 жыл бұрын
Just for a faster downshift + it gives you one less thing to think about so you can focus more on cornering. And it saves your hand from cramping. For a normal trackday rider this is not so important, but it comes from motoGP to an affordable price for the publuc, so why not 😉
@iodineclip7 жыл бұрын
you dont need to revmatch when you have slipper clutch, so why autoblipper? isnt it abit redundant ? does having slipper clutch alone does not help faster downshifts ?
@SR22VET-S156 жыл бұрын
iodineclip if you run auto blipper it probably reduces the time the clutch needs to slip to match the wheel speed to the engine speed, i still rev match on my bike with the slipper clutch im just so used to havinga bike without a slipper clutch, also i dont want to lose a skill that took me time to learn how to do correctly
@lenkiatleong5 жыл бұрын
@@SR22VET-S15 , I tried rev-matching on my old Honda Steed but it's still not smooth. Maybe i had done wrongly. My question is, when it's done correctly, the bike should be as smooth as with slipper clutch without any jerk?
@SR22VET-S155 жыл бұрын
@@lenkiatleong yes, it should be smooth, you need to blip the throttle enough before releasing the clutch, say for example you are in 4th gear at 5000rpm and if you shift down to 3rd you would be at 6000rpm, when you pull in the clutch and as the revs drop you need to blip the throttle so the revs come as close to 6000rpm (or wherever the revs will jump up to for that gear). Either too little revs or even too much revs will make it jerk. Practice without using any brakes at first just to get the feel of it, then try adding in brakes after you get the hang of it
@j3xy3423 жыл бұрын
You can clearly tell that no one here ever raced. 1. Rev matching on track (sometimes, not always) is time wasting because you cant drop multiple gears at once. 2. Even with rev matching when dropping gears this fast on a bike without a slipper clutch you will always get rear tire skids
@AzCrawler002 жыл бұрын
Not true at all. It is common (or certainly was) to save time by using the brakes, holding the cutch in and downshifting to the correct gear, match revs, and release. This was especially true on the two strokes. I did this routinely in 250GP on my RS250R. The only time there was chatter is if I did it wrong. Watch the World Champion GP racers from the glory days for many examples of this technique in action from the world's winning pilots.

No. It optimizes engine braking while decelerating hard. You get the idea when you dump the gear from 6th straightly to 2nd or 1st during corner entry and not having to worried blowing your engine out
