I bet that slipper clutch is gonna feel amazing on the track! You should do a full track build video with all the mods you have done so far. Would love to see that 👀

I've got a few more things I need to add, but I'll do a current status for you after I finish the bodywork

Great video! I've replaced clutch packs on dirt bikes -- pretty similar. So I think I can do this. I didn't even know this existed. Really glad you posted this, I now have a new project this spring.

Thank you! I think you can definitely do this, it's just a few more steps past what you've already done any way.

got my license(eu) on a Z650 and bought a Honda cbr600rr (04) after. not having a slipper clutch really humbled me trying to rev match lmao

The slipper clutch has been the biggest game changer for me for sure!

Great video! I’ve just tried to install a Sigma slipper on the same bike (basically exactly the same as the yoyodyne for the UK). Followed the instructions to the letter but when I engage first gear the engine stalls immediately. Any ideas as to why?
@Master_Yoshi Жыл бұрын
does it stall as soon as you click it into gear, while the lever is still pulled in? Or does it stall after you release the clutch lever?
@ColeslawJunkie Жыл бұрын
@@Master_Yoshi when the lever is still pulled in. I’ve pulled the covers back off and it looks like the clutch centre isn’t spinning freely in the basket. I’m guessing that’s the issue?
@Master_Yoshi Жыл бұрын
@ColeslawJunkie That'd be my guess too,

Hey man, so the yoyodyne doesn't come with the plates, you either have to re-use your existing ones or get new ones?

Was planning on just figuring out how to deal with the rear wheel chatter this season as I also get it on my 09 600rr, is it worth it to say fuck it and just buy the slipper clutch?
@Master_Yoshi Жыл бұрын
Hopefully! I'll let you know for sure after my first track day. From a few folks I've talked to, they say this a huge upgrade and well worth it for our bikes. I spent all last season just dealing with it and trying to manually slip the clutch. I'm looking forward to having one less thing to worry about.
@smithshotracing Жыл бұрын
yes, its worth it.. rev matching is a hard skill to master. its ok to buy mods to mask our lack of skill lol.. I got the same clutch last year and love it...
@josephdalton8607 Жыл бұрын
Was it worth it? Or should I just throw a regular inner basket and new clutch in with a quick shifting star?
@Master_Yoshi Жыл бұрын
Interesting question. I've never heard of quick shifting stars so I just breifly looked into them. My understanding is that they help make shifting smoother, which isn't necessarily what slipper clutches do. So to me, the slipper was worth it because I was getting crazy rear chatter from all the back torque while being hard on the front brakes. Here are some examples of it. kzbin.infodl-4vIsilK4 So, I guess it depends on what you want, but I don't think they accomplish the same things.

@@Master_Yoshi I’m getting a small rattle from my clutch that just started after this weekend, thinking it’s gonna be a clutch basket and just wondering if it’s worth the steep price tag with it or just wait until my chatter gets more like yours. I have small chatter here and there, more miss shifts and hard at shifting at times . I appreciate your time
@Master_Yoshi Жыл бұрын
@Joseph Dalton No worries, feel free to hit me up on IG if you have any questions. I would only recommend going with a slipper clutch if you're tracking the bike regularly. For the issues you're having, I don't think a slipper would necessarily fix it, but it could be your friction plates are going bad.

@@Master_Yoshi unfortunately I don’t do social media, some tonit here and there but that’s only for motorcycles. I’m gonna take it apart and inspect it this weekend hopefully, already plan on doing a clutch but if I need a basket to and I’m going that deep I was thinking about the slipper clutch. I daily my bike, weekends is a canyon carver on the mountain next to me and I try to track it Atleast once a year

Where did you purchase those slipper clutches
@Master_Yoshi5 ай бұрын
I bought the slipper clutch from Yoyodynes site. And the clutch plates and pads from partzilla. KZbin comments have been weird links not working for me recently.

From my research, they are both great options, but I don't really know if one is better than the other.

Nobody calls that the inner basket because it’s not the inner basket. You call it what it is… the pressure plate
@Master_Yoshi Жыл бұрын
Time stamp of where I called the pressure plate the inner basket?
@adam-wwa Жыл бұрын
This video lacks two important information's. First of all so called judder rings shouldn't be installed first, you should start with standard clutch plate, than steel ring than clutch plate which normally are at the end than judder rings and than rest of clutch. Second thing is that once you install pressure plate with springs, you should validate free space between pressure plate and clutch pack - there is different value for different bikes. For CBR600RR this shouldn't be less than 0,6mm, optimal around 1mm - this is critical for correct operation of slipper clutch.
@Master_Yoshi Жыл бұрын
4:22 I said exactly that lol. But you're right, about the second point, I did leave that step out.
