I think the face in the shop is supposed to be like the Mouth of Truth (Bocca della Verità) in Rome Italy. According to medieval legend, it will bite off the hand of any liar who places their hand in its mouth. I’ll bet it helps ward off evil pizza thieves too! 😃

You're right, that's exactly what it is. They have fortune telling machines in Japan with that face and you put your hand in the mouth to have your palm read.

I grew up outside of Chicago and grew up on deep dish, stuffed, and thin crust pizza but fell in love with Napolitano style pizza when I was an exchange student in Italy. The pizzas you found looked fantastic!

Pistachios are sometimes substituted for pine nuts when making pesto in the US. Might be related to the cost of pine nuts in the US.

I agree, but they do have pizza vending machines that bake the pizza as you wait for it to bake in Canada and I believe in the USA, there is one in the city next to where I live in Ontario Canada.

I always appreciate that you try to sample as many products a place has as possible so we get a full view of all the various foods they offer. That pizza was looking GOOD! I'm surprised more though that the pistachio pizza wasn't a highlight! PS. I found Carlo's Bakery cake slices (like you had in Vegas) are now sold at Walmart here in the states - including your carrot cake pick!

They have them in Canada and I'm sure the USA, but a real vending machine where you put the money in and then wait till the pizza bakes, Pizza Forno is the name of the vending machine in Canada at least.
