What really hurts is that Zuke really DID love her art, we see that in the second video. What he didn't like was that Eve couldn't understand how SOME of her 'art' hurts the people around her. She demonstrates her hate for herself in the first video, and then literally describes herself setting Zuke's hair on FIRE, but doesn't even register that those kind of actions bring HARM. He left, not because he didn't understand Eve. He left because he DID understand, but didn't know how to tell her, and left because he didn't want to get hurt anymore.

Eve is the perfect example of a sympathetic enemy / villain. She doesn't _want_ to be bad, she just wants someone to care about her. She thought she found that in Zuke but she was forcing her worldview on him so much that she accidentally drove him away. I feel like it can't be more clear _why_ she did what she did to Zuke than in the first clip. She isn't happy with herself and she feels like no one's there... God I just want her to be happy. Why can't she just be happy?

Like DJ Sub, he didn’t want to be forgotten so he was trying to use the NSR satellite to broadcast his music, he’s scared of being forgotten. Yinu’s mother was grieving the loss of her husband which explains why she wanted Yinu to keep playing during her boss fight, she wanted to keep her husband alive. That’s why the villains aren’t simply evil characters. They’re ordinary people like you and me who feel like they have to keep their control over Vinyl City.

Honestly, I know its just projection but I like to headcannon her as autistic. Her way of speaking is more monotone and with very complex words, just like how I used to speak growing up. I may be biased towards my own situation, but I associated it, coupled with her love for art, constant need for symbolism, and janky actions and mannerisms (like how she had to, almost aggressively, reassure Zuke that missing a spot was okay and how she non-maliciously set Zuke's hair on fire when she was "illuminating his hair") towards high performing autism. Regardless, I like how it's not very noticeable as a child, but she still has a lot of self loathing for it. Notice when she was throwing the paint balloons at the statue, she was only throwing it at her pink side. Similarly, her saying how much she hates the statue, may be a way of venting her frustration for her "pinkness." Whatever it means, even if the designers wanted us to choose how we interpreted her, I really enjoy her character.

I can see how it would be like something akin to aspergers or autism in some way, though when I see her in her first video, you see the pink side slooooowly filling in. Basically, her body is adjusting to whatever is going on in her mind. I am not one that is an expert on psychology, though... Actually, now that I think about it, is eve’s design meant to also build a deeper reason why they are all have different colors? DJ subatomic supernova is either wearing a cyborg suit (given he has hairy legs with dark peach skin) or is in the process of becoming the one thing he wants to be. Dk west is the opposite of Zuke, yet they are both the same skin tone, except their hair color contrasts with red and blue, respectively. Yinu’s mom is red and her body changes when in intense stress. If I’m picturing this right...I think the characters slowly change color as they get older when they find their inspiration for art and music. And if that is the case...and this is a question I am curious about: Does autism slowly grow more intense over time?

I’m more than certain that, like all the other NSR musicians, Nadia represents a particular brand of struggle that an artist might face. In her case, I’m sure she represents one very important concept called “Death of the Author.” She relies on her art to express herself, not realizing that because of how different her perspective is, anyone else trying to understand her art is just not going to get the same message. Such is the way of Death of the Author; No matter what your intent is, no matter what message you write into it, and no matter how you feel about your work, your audience decides what your art means to them.

I noticed in the beginning of the video she wears clothing that covers her body. She also tries to hide her pink/red side but isn't very successful at it. And when she was with Zuke, I imagine him telling her to embrace her unique features and thus we see a bit more of her skin and she wears more confident outfits. And once we see her as a boss, she's all out lol. She knows who she is and is proud of her image but deep down ik she still has some insecurities, worries, and other problems going on but Zuke was able to help her at some point until their relationship broke.

Nadia continues to perplex me, and I really don't feel like I can side with her or against her. On one hand, her struggle to be understood, to not be alone in the world, is truly heart breaking, and I empathize with her. It truly makes one's heart weep to see her feel complete with Zuke, and broken when she loses him. It seems her pain is part of what pushed her to be an NSR artist, and even in the present where she fights Mayday and Zuke, it seems she has not learned to move on and complete herself. Not to mention, she definitely has some form of self-hatred regarding her pink side. She really does want love. On the other hand, she is clearly psychotic to at least a small degree. She doesn't seem to realize the pain she was causing Zuke. Even though he left without saying goodbye, how do we know that she could accept any other goodbye? She lights his hair on fire and calls it "illuminating it with many lights", so she is either delusional or in utter denial. Even as she fights Mayday and Zuke, she can't let go of him, and when she is finally beat, she falls back on the same mindset that has pushed her away from everyone else: She calls them jealous of her art and ability. Whatever her case, she clearly does not have every together.

Something I noticed: In the NSR universe, it seems like skin color is a lot more varied and vibrant than in our world. Mayday’s skin is orange, while Zuke’s is green, and all the random NPCs have similar vibrancy with blues, pinks, yellows, etc.. All characters do have one thing in common, though; their skin is always one solid color. What’s interesting about Nadia, and what sets her apart specifically, is that she seems to actually have perfectly split-color skin, and it’s not some kind of makeup. In the first video, we see that she is mostly white, but she has some sort of red blistering on the left half of her face… or does she? If we look closely, we can see that she still has a definitive split down the center of her face where the red ends, and the white is actually painted on. The white is also missing from her fingertips, which is where she makes the most contact with surfaces. She doesn’t have some weird red spot skin condition, her color split is naturally symmetrical, and she tries to hide it in that first clip with white makeup. In the second video, she is more prominently showing her red side, showing that in recent years she has become more confident about showing off her “true colors” so to speak. It still starkly sets her apart from any other character in the game, but notice how her outfit is just a regular cute shirt and pants. When we meet her in gameplay, we can see that her entire brand has become based around her white and red split. The clothing and adornment she wears is custom made to specifically highlight the contrast between her white side and her left. Her stage and boss arena are entirely based on duality in theme and mechanics. Her “dual sides” theme is her identity. I think that Eve / Nadia represents a person who is completely unusual in the world. They feel totally isolated because no one is like them. Early in life, these different people try to hide their differences to fit in. Young Nadia represents this; she hates herself and wishes she was a different, single color, which is why she assaults her blank statue with different colored paints. Later in life, people who are unusual can accept who they are and try to live relatively normal lives. College Nadia represents this part of being an unusual person. She creates art that contains both her colors, but the art has its own beauty to it, the image of self love and acceptance; a heart! Nadia is balanced during this phase of her life, because she has found someone who accepts her for who she is and she is no longer afraid to reveal her unusualness to the world. Finally, there is the opposite extreme of self-hatred: self obsession. This is what happens when people hyperfocus on what makes them different, which causes them to isolate themselves. This is what Eve is; rather than creating art colored through her experiences, she turns her own experience into an art piece, fully embracing her “otherness” and convincing herself that people like her are superior. Her art is extremely liminal and empty feeling, calling upon the idea that she has no one who can relate to her experience and is therefore doomed to lead a tortured existence; her split colors define her entirely, and she is extremely forthcoming about this, declaring “look at how different and alone I am” to the world at maximum volume, to try and reach anyone who might relate to her, even though what she is actually doing is isolating herself even more. She even changes her name to be perfectly symmetrical: EVE. Eve is a fantastic metaphor for people who have unusual characteristics, personalities, or experiences, such as neurodivergent individuals and people with bipolar (Bipolar in particular seems to be what Eve highlights). Some hide their unusualness, some hyperfixate on it and isolate themselves, and some choose to live a balanced life of acceptance. I love this character a lot, and I wish we got to see more of this kind of development with the other characters. Just… genuinely amazing storytelling.

I’ve been relating more and more to Nadia/Eve, and that kinda concerns me. She demonstrates unhealthy attachments, and often a disconnect from reality. But then again, she’s still intelligent, creative, and beautiful. Seeing so many people appreciate her makes me feel like maybe I’m lovable in spite of all my flaws too. It’s bittersweet.

It's interesting how Nadia's hair looks so different only when she's with Zuke, her hair style is basically the same when she was very young, then when Zuke left her, and later when she became "Eve". I think her hair emphatizes how she feels in that moment of her life, when she was with Zuke, she looked so happy and energetic (just look at her smile at 1:06, she's so damn cute!), in every other moment she feels either angry with herself (maybe because of her double colored skin when she was very young) or disdainfully against others (blaming Zuke for not sharing her artistic vision, or underestimating Mayday by calling her a "pedestrian"). I've known girls who had changed her hairstyles after something either good or bad happened to them that had a huge impact on their lives, for me it's interesting to notice such changes and trying to figure out what happened to understand them better.

With this from Eve's past. I think we already know what she is like and you see Eve (also known as Nadia. That's her real name confirmed in the second fight with DK West) was a girl who was born with a condition that made her body have 2 colors, pink and white. and Eve didn't like this to the point that she hated one of her parts, the pink one (this is seen in the first tape and in the fight with her) and she likes art and painting (hence her battle theme). it was art and painting). Later at university she met Zuke and they began to have a romantic relationship until they broke up and this led Eve to take her art to the whole world causing her to join NSR's company

I disagree because Mayday has an arc with wanting Vinyl City to rebel against NSR so they can bring back rock music. And then they do that, but things get out of control and they realize that NSR isn't entirely a bad thing/work with them in the end. This all seems like what Mayday wants and her arc, she is the one who sorta leads Zuke and she is the one of argues with Tatiana after her boss fight. He just goes along because he likes rock music and Mayday. I think you mean backstory, because May has literally NO info on her past, while every other character has a good amount, even DJSS and Sayu.
