I like both Zuke and Mayday in jp, Sayu is noticeably a lot sweeter and softer, which is great, but I don't think Ai Yamamoto brings the same energy that Nikki brings to the table, so at that point it's where you either prefer the energy of the english, or the softer japanese virtual idol, personally wish Ai put more oomph into the later phases, but she's by no means bad.

I def agree! Her spoken parts are great, but she lacks some power in her singing that Nikki offers in the English version. Especially during the "One Two Three Four!" segment. In the English version, you can tell she's angry and on her last straw, in the Japanese version, she's cutesy as ever. Not to say the Japanese version is bad! I like both and they both sound great. I'd say I have a preference for the English version though.

I love the japanese voice acting for this game and the fact they translated this song I just have one issue... Sayu doesnt have as much spunk as she does in the original, especially the singing. In the part just before the last phase where she counts she sounds so aggressive in english and I love that. In japanese its still that cutesy voice which makes me a bit sad since that’s my favorite part of the song

Tbh I think the English voices are better than Japanese, at least for the 3 voices in this fight. Mayday's JP voice doesn't fit all that well, Zuke is ok, and I think Sayu was better in English for the most part, except for when she entered her 4th phase, that bit sounds better than the English version.

Just found out about something, listening to the Japanese lyrics of the song In the Japanese pronunciation, "Mermaid" (人魚) is pronounced "Nin-gyo" and "Doll" or "Puppet" (人形) is pronounced "Nin-gyou", which is pronounced slightly longer but is extremely similar to "Nin-gyo" Holy frick, there was a frickin' REASON why she was a mermaid....!!
