hello, FIRST....THANK YOU, for posting the BEST VIDEO I HAVE FOUND EXPLAINING THESE TOOLS.....much better than autels website, I wish they would get their act and info together...anyyways... I notice this was done a year ago...just curious... I spoke with autel and they said the 501 and 601 did the exact same thing when it came to TPMS stuff...even being able to read /erase codes and view live date pertaining to TPMS stuff..they said the only difference is the 501 couldn't read and clear obd2 codes and such like a regular scan tool could do.....(which is ok bc I already own the md802 all systems) so anyways....I bought the autel ts501k...is this true...can the 501 do those extra TPMS stuff now that you say only the ts601 could do. (read erase and do live tpms data?)
@FlashPerformance1
@FlashPerformance1 7 жыл бұрын
You are correct, in the past year Autel has been upgrading the software in there TPMS tools. The TS501 can now read and erase codes, but only in the TPMS module. The TS601 can read and erase codes in the TPMS module and for generic OBD2 along with some bidirectional controls in the TPMS module, like tire size adjustment and PSI adjustment on some applications.

Quick question! For a 2007 crv, using the ts401, I would need an OB2 port tool to connect to the PCM? In order to have the vehicle relearn the sensors. Is that correct? Unless, using either the ts501 or ts601. One other thing to note, I'd be using OEM tpms sensors. PS: Awesome video!
@FlashPerformance1
@FlashPerformance1 5 жыл бұрын
Yes you have to connect to the OBD2 port to write the sensor IDs. You can do this with a professional scan tool or by using the TS501, TS508, TS601, and/or TS608. Even with OE sensors.

I have a TS501 tpm-only scan tool. I installed a new DVT sensor onto my 2014 Tundra. The TS501 has read all the sensors, but I haven't been able to figure out how to transfer the TPM info from the TS501 to the vehicle. Everything I've read & viewed says to just plug the TS501 into the OBD-II connector and download the stored data, however, there doesn't seem to be a download/transfer option, at least I haven't figured out how to access it.

I have a 2017 Honda Pilot. Dealer ordered me a set of Black OEM custom wheels with sensors and installed the stock tires. I used the stock rims, and installed Winter tires. All wheels have Honda OEM sensors. Can I use these tools when I swap sets to relearn? Do I need any other tools? Dealer wants an hour labor each time they reset it. What is the minimum model I can get to do this? Thanks.
@FlashPerformance1
@FlashPerformance1 6 жыл бұрын
The Autel tools do not have the relearn process in them for the 2017 Honda just yet. I am sure it will come... My best recommendation would be to return the sensors to the dealer, order the TS408 and 4 Autel MX sensors. Do a copy by activation on each sensors. This would make your winter tires and summer tires have the same IDs. When you do the switch the vehicle will no know because the vehicle will already be looking for those IDs.

Most of the time it comes down to a sensor that the battery has gone bad. Every tire shop now has the right equipment to test the TPMS system to find out what the issue may be. Prices very depending on where you are in the country. Guess around $100 to get a sensor replaced. The shop will need to remove the tire, replace the sensor, rebalance the wheel, and relearn the sensor.

I can't read the sensor in my car, is there a setting where it will pick up any frequency so I can determine if the sensor in the tire is working and possibly they installed a sensor for another car? Also it's strange that both the 2011malibu and Prius both have 315 but after reading the Malibu's I go to the Prius and doesn't read anything. When I switch to Prius it reads the Prius right away. Makes me think I have to select every possible car option to see what sensor they installed in my wheel. I have the ts508
@FlashPerformance1
@FlashPerformance1 4 жыл бұрын
There is not a search function on the TS tools from Autel. There are many different frequencies inside 315mHz. 315.1, 315.2, 315.3 etc. The 315 mHz is just the base frequency, so going from the Malibu to the Prius is not going to work the same because they will be on different sub frequencies. If the Malibu does not read you can try going up a year or down a year on the tool to see if you can pick it up. It could be that the sensor is bad or that the sensor is locked to a sub frequency that the Malibu can not see.
@jackdonkey22

First, I would make sure that you have completely updated the tool. You can find a video for that here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/a3eyh2ijitqcfZI Second, after you select the Year Make and Model select the "?" button. This will give you the step by step relearn procedure for your vehicle. On a 2013 Toyota Sienna they had both 433Mhz and 315Mhz. If you go "Tool Kit" from the home screen> RKE & RF Monitor, you can press the key fob to find out what Mhz the system is running. Third, when you read through the relearn process you will see that it requires you to connect to OBD2 to write sensor ID's. The TS401 doesn't have that function, it will require a MaxiCheck Pro, MX808, or professional level scan tool to do that step.

@@benl4707 Each TPMS sensor has its own ID, That sensor transmits it information out and the vehicle looks for that specific ID and captures the information the sensor is transmitting. If we didn't do it this way your vehicle would pick up TPMS sensors from other vehicles driving down the road. When they say the sensor has to be programmed they are correct, we have to program that sensors ID to the vehicle. This way the vehicle will know to use that sensors information. I struggled to answer your questions on this on. The TS501 and TS601 can not manually enter the IDs into the PCM, but I'm not really sure why you would want to. To enter the Sensor IDs you simply scan all of the sensors and select write sensor IDs and the tool does all the work for you. The only reason I can think of to manually enter the IDs is because the sensor didn't transmit the signal to the Tool and in that case the sensor would not transmit to the car so the sensor would not work anyway. Manual entry of sensor IDs can be found in all of the MaxiSys tools.

I'm sorry for making you confuse. The reason why I'm asking you it's because I'm working with 2016 Corolla and when I'm trying to Scan the sensor using my ts501 it won't work, but when I use my ts401 it work. when I play around with my ts501 no way you can register the I'd manually. So I was just wondering if you can do it on TS 601? Thanks for replying to my massage I do appreciate it.

I understand your logic now and that makes sense. There are a few things I would try, first, make sure that your TS501 is up to date. All of the updates are free. You can find that process here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mIG2aZmQfZx4msk. If that doesn't work we need to get the VIN number for that car to the engineering team at Autel so they can look into the issue.

What is the difference between TS501 and TS508? Thanks!

OBD2 connection. The TS501 does not have the ability to connect via OBD2 to write sensor ID's the TS508 does: Correction: The TS501 does have OBD connection. The TS508 is the newer version

This Toyota is an OBD2 relearn. It would require a TS501, TS601, TS508, TS608 to do this relearn. Yes, the Autel tools can relearn this vehicle
