That's great, I'm glad it was helpful! The scanner is great and very easy to use.

Nice video-very logical and easy to follow. However, the position of the 508 needs to be on the tire to receive the signal not on the rim. The signal comes from inside the tire, not from the valve stem. The signal cannot go thru a metal wheel. Thanks.

It goes through the stem. I've programmed these sensors while they are installed, and with the tool next to the tire they don't program, only next to the stem. Of course they should be programmed prior to installation, but that showed me that the signal is best transmitted next to the stem.

@@CleverFix I respect your experience but my comment was based on the TS508WF quick start guide Item number 2 which shows to not hold the tool inside/above the rim but beside the tire. If you google this it's unclear if the valve stem is or isn't an antennae . I suspect that small position changes could affect the signal acquisition. Again, thanks for the video.

@@Campsnowcactus Thanks for the follow up. That makes sense about the instructions. From my experience, when programming, the signal is VERY limited, this is why I had to hold it so close and it only worked close to the stem. When scanning, the signal is MUCH stronger than programming, and I've scanned sensors 3-4 feet away even. It's best to be close, to avoid scanning the wrong one, that's how strong they are. Their signal can go quite far. The stem has a rubber seal, so the signal should be able to go through it, although I don't think the stem is an antenna. There are two stem options, rubber and metal, and they're detachable/replaceable. I'm not sure if you tried the tool, but if you use it, you'll see that it's not very picky, it will scan easily.

Are those sensors aftermarket or oem original? I have bought aftermarket’s will this tool work?
@CleverFix4 ай бұрын
They're Autel MX sensors, so they are aftermarket. The TS508 supports both 315MHz and 433MHz frequencies, so it depends what frequency the car needs. Each car needs a specific type of sensor, so the most important to is to order the correct sensor, otherwise the car and the tool won't recognize it. To be sure the TS508 will work, you can contact Autel here: autel.com/us/contact/ I believe just by telling them the car model, they will know.

@@CleverFixthe beauty of the Autel MX is that it’s both 315MHz + 433MHz compatible. Tire rack has a good deal on them!
