Gurkha is the only true off-roader with Mercedes Engine and individual suspension. Not like Thar's lorry like spring plate. It also has full optional differential on demand. Proud to be the first one in Tamil Nadu state to buy it when the product released back in 2014. SOLD it for financial reasons later. But it's an awesome off-roader. One drive it under water until it reaches and submerges the bonnet indicator just where you can see it for pathway guideline. Did it N number of times in Maayaar. When we were on TNEB water survey

Diff lock makes a suv go anywhere. With Gurkha I'd say the other issues (mechanical) if solved Gurkha will become an amazing suv. Hope force listens and amend them.

you have to keep rotating steering and keep the RPM below 1500. that's the key to recover in sand.

Actually, gurkha was in 4 wheel drive but only one wheel each side was rotating, that’s why it didn’t sink in. If gurkha would have sunk the same way like other vehicles, it would have no chance for self recovery. This experiment failed big time and everybody was already ready to praise gurkha for no reason. Its not a fair comparison. Didn’t expect this from DCV. I had big hopes from him.

Bhai it's called smart engineering the company designed Gurkha to be that way also it was in four wheel drive only one tyre sinks cause it should recover also from toughest condition when u r in the off-roads also everything is manual in Gurkha which gives driver full control of his vehicle because only a driver will know the perfect timing to use specific feature so it's a win win situation but as I mentioned all four tryes must go in they won't go if you manually dug up four holes by hand maybe then it may be possible in the end Gurkha is clear winner

The tyre pressure in sand cannot be more than 20 psi in order to gain traction .looking at those tyres it's definitely more. Basics of driving on sand.
