just a preference thing, i would prefer a black bezel around the grate so it just doesn't look like a random slot in the corner of the room - something to frame it.

Agreed. I would also have preferred the grating be fitted from the top and end up flush with the top surface. It would allow for some serviceability in terms of things/dust dropped into the outlet.

It does look sweet, you guys do spend a lot of time on the details! Waiting to see how those stairs turn out!

Flush.Flush.Flush. I'm installing what seems like miles of aluminum reglets in my townhouse renovation. Had Aria 4x10 vents installed. Then saw Nick's video about Aria bathroom exhaust fan vents- which I think just became available at the time. Went and ripped out my Panasonic fans and mounted them in the Aria. Notice in this video the Trufig outlet. I didn't have the budget for that. Maybe I have something this house doesn't- 7 interior doors with Sugatsune hinges. Can't have hinges sticking out on a modern house God forbid. I think achieving the flush look is a sickness. Great job on the floor vents. Can't wait for the next video on this project.

My bad. These metal jambs DO HAVE concealed hinges.

Really neat. Did you consider cncing the flooring, and 3D printing a custom grate or cncing one out of metal?

How would you clean it if something fell or spilled into it?

A nice detail but perhaps a rounded edge might look more custom. I'd leave a few extra grills for the owners when the inevitable high heel goes thru at their house warming gala

I put that *exact* floor in my house, its stunning with no knots, but the wood is *soft*, now I can't be certain if it's the oak, or the substrate, or manufacturing, but it dents like crazy even with 3 coats of Bona Traffic HD. Do your due diligence and make sure you put down the most bomber top coats.

Can I finish my hydro floor heating with some anhydrite-gypsum based screed?

I cringed watching the guy hammering the wood flooring with a standard hammer.

Contrary to what was said in the video, All flooring regardless of whether it is engineered or solid has a wear layer. On a solid wood product, the wear layer is the surface above the tongue and groove of the board. You can't sand below the tongue and groove as this would expose not only gaps in the wood but also the nails that hold the flooring in place.
