By far the shortest and BEST advice/video on recovery I've seen. Thanks!

Well done, sir. I'm headed out to my local steel yard to get these materials and start assembly.

Hi from Portland Oregon! I never been 4x4 but I have been watching different recovery videos. I love both of your equipment for getting out by yourself! 👍👍👍

Great idea mate - thanks for making the video, I think I might copy your idea but I'll cut up an old sway bar to use as the stakes...Ive had a look and from what I can tell spring steel is at least as strong as 1144 but will save some cash as Im sure I can find an old sway bar for next to nothing 👍 Thanks

I'm impressed with how easy it came back out of the ground. thought it would be very stuck in the ground was like how is he gonna get the spikes back out?

Sometimes is easier than others, but rotating while pulling is the key

Is that a Bush Winch on the rear wheel?
@fastfrankd3 жыл бұрын
It is a DIY fabricated wheel winch similar to the Bush Winch, I have another video on how to make it.

I just wanted to know how you attached the wheel on there lol

I have another video on my channel that walks through this. Check out my video list.

Some Hummer H1 came with a pin kit for this type of extraction. They recommend driving them in at an angle. Nice video!

You should sell these.

That's a lot of weight. Then you have to carry a sledgehammer, cable or chain, and finally some device to actually do the pulling. A lot of weight for something that gets a free ride, i.e. is carried, but mostly unused. Hopefully.

Yes this is for the person who already has a winch, but may find themselves stuck in an area with few trees. In my case, it was Colorado near tree line elevation.

dude that's great but there is no way those stakes pull out that easily in clay u must have like greased them or something ...when it gets light enough outside I'm going out and drive a rod in the ground and throw my back out to prove it .....got to check ur other vids out first ....rockon
@fastfrankd Жыл бұрын
Yes they did, you just have to twist them back and forth while you pull, as shown.

You're going to get stuck in mud, snow and sand not on hard ground. Show demo in soft ground conditions.
@fastfrankd Жыл бұрын
I show the underfoot conditions for this demonstration in my Wheel Winch video (which uses these stakes) on this same KZbin channel. It was wet clay with a 50% grade coming out of a hole. You can see a close-up of the water and angle finder at the end of the Wheel Winch video.

I thought this was going to be about how to make a ground anchor in an emergency with no tree in sight... not how to make something in a workshop. Might as well just buy one for the cost of all that steel and the tools needed.
@fastfrankd2 жыл бұрын
Purchasing is certainly another option. The steel was about $60 and the tools an investment made almost 2 decades ago with a lifetime return.
