Careful Jack, the game is highly addictive. I came from ping pong and volleyball as well, and I was playing competitive tennis when I was introduced to the sport. I haven't put down the pickleball paddle in 9 years!

Mostly helpful drills. Not sure how practicing using the side of the paddle is ever helpful.

Using the side of the paddle helps improve hand eye coordination. However, I don't recommend using the side of the paddle to hit the ball in a game. : )
