31:25 The order left and chose not to participate because it was too risky, and as we saw on ep6 they might pay the ultimate price if the soon-to-be rider is not of proper heritage. The bonding ritual on ep6 was done "by the book" with the bonding song and the rider knowing at least a few valyrian commands. In this episode we see what kind of clusterphuck this ritual was.. 😁

Hugh the Hammer is the son of the disgraced princess Saera Targaryen. who was disowned and disinherited by King Jaehaerys because she had seduced two knights of the Kingsguard into breaking their vows with her, unlike Rhaenyra she openly bragged about it when questioned. her father ordered her confined to a monastery for the rest of her life as punishment, but Saera escaped and fled to the free cities. Jaehaerys would learn years later that Saera had survived by prostituting herself for big sums of gold to wealthy merchants in order to buy a brothel, the king upon hearing that news became so angry and heartbroken that he suffered a stroke.
